Emerald Cut Help

I am looking at these 2 Emerald Cut Diamonds and am wondering which one do you guys think would be the better one or is there anything that I should look at more on the EC Diamond that these do not have?

I think that the second one has a more appealing shape. more classic EC and the other will be more boxy. That is personal though. Can you request the crown height? They both look very nice but having a crown height of 10% or higher is important for an EC

Post the crown height when you have it, they both have potential but thats all that can be said without images, can you get an ASET image for each and detailed photos too please?

If you can’t get the ASET, then at least a picture of the stone (straight on looking at the table) that is magnified.

The one measurement that a Sarin machine can accurately evaluate for fancy shapes is the crown height percentage. Please let me know if you would like me to obtain the crown height for these diamonds knowing they will not be of much use.

We do not have ASET images available for our diamonds - primarily because they are of little use to the majority of our consumers as well as being confusing to interpret and understand.

I'm also sorry to say that we are not able to provide photographs of loose diamonds, primarily because diamonds are notorious for photographing inaccurately. A diamond with M color and I1 clarity can appear colorless and flawless in a photograph, while a diamond with F color and VVS2 clarity can appear yellow and significantly included. Another layer of potential inaccuracy is added in trying to display such photographs online. It is very difficult to represent colors and dimensions in an online photograph consistently as differing monitor settings prevent images from appearing the same for all users.

So I can't get pictures of the Diamonds... they did give me the crown height on one of them, the other I am still waiting on.

Do you have the crown height as a percentage? I did my own calculation using 0.5mm and the % came out very high, causing me to doubt the accuracy of my calculation.

The crown height will be a percentage so that value can't be right....But images are really what are needed, the crown height only tells a small part of the story.

Well I went into the store and talked to a guy who I have been dealing with, he showed me a couple emeralds they had and one really got my attention. I don''t have all the information you guys want but the information from the GIA report I do have is:

Personally would skip the uncertified stone, it is just too risky because you cannot be sure of the accuracy of the grading.

For us to really help you out we need to see a picture of the diamond and the crown height at least. I''m sorry, without that it is almost impossible for us to really help you out too much

There is a search function up top to see the prices out there. Seems they run from as low as 2700 to as high as 4700, so you are at the higher end, but of course this tells you nothing about cut quality.

What you could do is purchase an ASET scope and take it with you, they are simple to use and it would help you get a better idea of the cut quality.
