Thanks to all who helped me pick out an engagement ring last year! I need help...again. I''m very indecisive.

My idea is to buy my fiance a diamond pendant as a wedding gift. Her engagement ring is a 1 C emerald in a cathedral setting. Would a .50 - .70 C emerald look right? I haven''t seen many and am wondering if I should stick with a round instead.

Thanks!

I think she''d love the EC since her ring is EC. Usually the pendant is smaller than the ering so I think the size you are looking at will be beautiful.

My ER is 1.63 ct emerald cut, and I also have a .92 ct emerald cut solitaire pendant. I love wearing them together. They compliment each other nicely. I would go a tad bid smaller for the pendant, so that it doesn''t "outshine" the ER.

Let us know what you decide!

In addition to a smaller size stone for the pendant, you can also consider going a tad down in clolor and clarity vis-a-vis the ER.

I think she would love it. I would set it east-west personally.

I just had a emerald pendant necklace made using a 1/2 emerald center. I decided to mount the stone east-west. Apologies for the awful photography.

Thanks for the responses! I''m going ahead with the emerald pendant. Since it will be < 1 C, can I drop as low as H color and VS2 clarity? The ER is F, VS1. Just want to make sure there isn''t a noticeable difference between the two.

It would look lovely set east-west. You shouldn''t see any difference in a H VS2 stone.
