Have a deal from a reputable jeweler in NYC for an emerald cut eternity ring, size 6.5 in platinum. Quality of stones are F color, VS1 - VVS2. Little over .4 carats each.

Can do the deal for $16,000. Too good to be true or a good deal?

Thanks,

is "the Donald" selling Melania''s ring?

Thanks. I saw a ring from Facets that was 8.1 carats, F-G color, VS1 -- VVS2 clarity in an emerald cut with platinum. He wanted $17,500. So the 15,500 didnt seem way off base.

appreciate the help.

that does not sound too bad. I have a shared prong e/c band that is about 12 carats, each stone is approx .75 and it is in platinum...(I have large knuckles) and the price you are saying sounds in the ball park for the size and carat weight.

DF can I play in your jewelry box some day? Please? lol.

Any time!! (I think it could be fun, I used to love to play in my mom''s stuff, which definitely started the ball rolling for my jewelry obsession!)

I would LOVE to take you up on that... lol. I went jewelry browsing (again) today. Not so much fun b/c none of the jewelers aournd here have BIG diamonds mounted in their rings. And well... as bold as I admittedly am... I haven't got the nerve to say 'um... do you have any 4+ carat diamonds around here I could try on for kicks?'... although the thought did cross my mind today.

ETA: Sorry for the threadjack! Will stop now.

Gypsy, I think you are out West or on the West coast? I am outside of Philly...near Kaleigh, lucky me!

Really? I live in Central Jersey. Hmm...

ETA: GTG ???

Could be a good deal if you can get an independent appraisal to verify the stone quality. Here's a good comparison for you:

I think this is a really good advice...especially since (I presume) they don't have lab reports.

I always wonder what is meant by the term: "reputable vendor"....do you know this guy? Have you dealt with him in the past? How's his reputation? I just ask these questions because NYC can be a dangerous place to shop for diamonds!

If you get it, PLEASE come back and post pictures....we just can't get enough bling around here!

Why did I think you lived out west? maybe because you and I end up on PS late at night and I just figure that I must be the only one up in the east that late...three hours earlier makes more sense to me! :)

I''m from Cali originally. *shrug*... but no, I''m on insane sleepy time schedule to. You have company!

To someone who is currently jobless and well... has a full tank of gas at the moment, that could be a very dangerous offer!

We will have the insomniacs club going here!!! Come on down, Kaleigh and I will be happy to see you!

As you all are senior PS members (and I'm fairly new), I feel that etiquette dictates that you all should be the ones to want to get together. But if one were to be say, proposed, I would be there. With bells on. Or without. Nah... I like bells. Definitely bells.

i''ve purchased from them before, but not diamonds. the seller is golda''s jewelry in nyc. facets collection has a very similar ring. but $2k more. figure i could get facets down a bit, but appreciae your thoughts on these 2 sellers. golda''s or facets. thanks.

Well, we can figure something out! Where in New Jersey are you?!

Right by Point Pleasant Beach. So about an hour away from Philly. It would be great if we could work something out. My schedules fairly open right now. Just going to CA from July 25th to 2nd of August.

Sorry to have threadjacked...but I did say I THINK the ring sounds well priced. More expert commentary needed, though.

We can broach it to our queen Kaleigh! I am open to it!

MY SINCERE appologies for the threadjack.

Sounds good DF! Will await her majesty''s pleasure.
