Elizabeth Taylor pendant diamond size

Hi! I'm dreaming up a new pendant like Elizabeth Taylor's heart shaped diamond necklace.

Would love you hear your opinions on what size her diamond is - so I can try to replicate this look. Thanks for chiming in!!

It wouldn't surprise me if someone on here really knows the stats of the actual necklace. Also, hearts can be cut very variably - depth and cutting style will affect the face up size. I think it's about 8x10mm. And now that I said that, maybe I should go up to 2-2.5ct? Clearly I have no idea. I've only loosely dabbled in hearts! Bump for you, though!

My guess is around the 2-2.5 ct mark, but I don't think I've ever seen a heart shaped diamond in real life around that size that wasn't behind a glass case.

Hope you find one that makes your heart sing and gives you the aesthetic you are looking for. =D

I tried to recreat the look and ordered a 5ct heart.

The setting was supposed to be convertible between a slider and a pendant with a bail.

However it did not work out as it did not hang well. Rather than trying to fix it, I opted for it to be reset as a pendant with a bail only.

No pics yet as I did not like the original setting. However 5ct is a good size for my chunky neck!

My super unscientific guess (from going off of a 1st dibs Graff 3ct heart pendant ) and assuming Liz is wearing a 16” chain in the pic - would be something in the 9-10mm range for the heart diamond.

The CAD of my 5ct Moissy reset states the stone is 11.1 x 11.1 x 7.5mm (in Rhodium plated Silver).

While hunting for my E. Taylor pics in my files, I came across something that might be useful when trying to gage carat weight -- its a heart pendant that is 5.23 cts that was for sale awhile back on 1st Dibs...

And also just came here to say that I love Elizabeth Taylor so much, I grew up on classic movies and she has got to be the most stunning woman of all time (without even considering the diamonds ...)
