Exactly!!!

Good for her! Given how may times he''s transgressed it doesn''t seem like he feels bad about it or is likely to give up cheating.

Good move, and good riddance to a total slimeball.

Do you think any woman will marry him after this?

Oh sure, easily. Look how many jumped into bed with him. At least half of them would leap at the promotion, and at least half of those might actually be able to delude themselves into thinking it''d be a meaningful relationship. The other half would, presumably, be content with the status/money/bragging rights/proximity to fame and be a little more clear-sighted about what exactly they were marrying.

But there''s no shortage of people in the world willing to make bad life decisions, and for the right (or wrong) type of woman, who was sufficiently clear-sighted, hard-headed, and cold-blooded, that might not even be a bad call.

Well said Liane.

Predictably, this same ''in-love'' or ''gold-digging'' woman will cry foul when she in turn is cheated on.

and another good one. so, it appears his behavior was known as early as 1997......but a whole industry was able to grow up around him and in the end $ speaks.

I'm not arguing with you, MZ, but with the article linked to in your post.

While it may be true that people don't easily change their ways, I'm still idealistic enough to believe that it is possible for a single "playboy" or "playgirl" to take his or her marriage vows seriously and become a faithful spouse... and I'm sure there are celebrity examples that could be cited even though I don't follow the gossip rags closely enough to cite them. I'm also sure that a lot of people are willing to be complicit when a celebrity behaves badly -- such as people who are willing to turn a blind eye to a superstar's philandering (I think that's the point of the article) and to support it just because of that superstardom. But the article also suggests that the burden of celebrity or superstardom or something can somehow be used as an excuse for Tiger's bad behavior ("Was his paradise a prison? So it would seem.")

Uh... no.

Whether Tiger is dealing with an addition, or blinding egotism, or whether he was just too lazy to honor his marriage vows, himself, and the women who were so eager to be a part of his superstar life...

he alone is responsible for the choices and behavior.
