Election Night Parties?

I''ll be going to one -- much the same crowd I watched returns with four years ago... and eight... although I think the mood will be much different this time

.

I''m sure I''ll have a good time catching up with old friends and cheering the results with generally like-minded people. Still, I''m sorry I won''t be able to be here watching the results roll in with my PS buddies.

I''ve really apprecieate the discussion here, especially over the past two weeks or so, when the site admins took down the old party threads and "encouraged" us to take the shouting down a few notches. It seems like many of us have worked hard at disagreeing without being disagreeable. Much of the discussion rose above posting dueling URLs to sharing our responses to the information (factual and otherwise) that was provided on those URLs. I can honestly say that I was informed by the discussion and posters here.

I hope we all find something to cheer in tomorrow''s results, and that we''ll be able to continue the discussion as we watch the results of the decisions that we collectively make tomorrow.

I''ve come out of lurkdom in the final days before the election but have enjoyed reading the posts from all perspectives in the last few months. Sure, there are teeth-nashing, head-banging-against-the-wall moments, but this country is great because everyone can freely argue dissenting points of view and not be persecuted or jailed for them. Thanks again, my fellow PSers, for contributing to the dialogue and broadening my mind

Panda, I love that you''re here! I''m so glad you''re not lurking anymore . . . I''ve really enjoyed reading your posts these last few days!

I voted at 7:30 this morning. I''m at work until 5:00 p.m. and I have to teach a horseback riding lesson tonight after work. The polls in our area close at 8:00 p.m. and I will definitely be home by then, so I''m planning to sit down with the TV and PS as soon as I get home!
