I have been doing a bit of due diligence to determine how comfortable I should be about buying an EGL certified ring. I have found a ring H, VS1, 2.09 emerald cut. My question really is - should I ask the dealer to get the stone GIA certifed in addition to the regular appraisal I have planned? I want to buy what I believe I am getting. I notice some other comments out there on GIA vs EGL. Any ideas?
