EGL stone- is it worth it?

I am thinking about purchasing an EGL-USA Certified ring for what I think is a good deal, but does EGL actually grade gems in the setting, the gem ID on the site says it does, also- it says the stone is an F/G- I didn''t think they did that, I thought it was one or the other? What would be a good range on a stone like this? This is what I know about the stone...

F/G
I1
6.45-6.43 x 3.75 mm
14k WG setting

egl i1 = obvious booger

the f/g was probably because the stone was graded in the setting. you can''t get an accurate grade with a mounted diamond. hence, the split grade.

you can get an idea of pricing by using the ''pricescope your diamond'' search tool above and entering your specs.

Hard to say if it''s worth it if there''s no price.

I''d probably just tell you what I would buy for a given price, anyway, since there''s not enough information.

About $600... is what I'm looking at, and even looking at PS, going a grade lower each way- that seems like a deal? By the way- EGL does not certify CE- right???

Well, I wouldn't buy it, but who am I to say that deals don't exist ?

I wonder why it's going for 25% of other EGL G I1s. Even on the secondary market, that's low. (Are you going to say Ebay?)

How did you guess? I know... ebay is RISKY... Check out the cheesy photoshop job on their "factory"

I have seen some ''generic'' lab grading cards which cover a multitude of possible colour and clarity grades with a diamond. Also one to watch out for is " graded using ---lab techniques'' which doesn''t necessarily mean that the diamond was graded by the actual lab. In some cases a properly graded EGL diamond can check out, but I wouldn''t personally purchase a diamond from Ebay.

Interesting...

I asked the seller... they say the diamond is not Clarity Enhanced... However, Picture is a Sample- obviously AND Gem ID Card is a sample!!! Very deceiving!!! Buyer Beware!
