Ok, finally got the freakin cert faxed after calling and asking for 2 days straight. Please rip the stone apart. Tell me the good, the bad, the ugly. Also, I can''t see anywhere on the cert that it says EGL USA...so does this mean it isn''t?

Sorry, attachment didn''t work, will try this again...

pmpkn, I don't think it's USA, here's the link to a pic of an EGL USA grading report, and it says USA at the top.

It looks like a shallow/steep by the percentages for crown/pavilion. To give you an idea, my stone is a 34/41 with %'s at 14.92/43.39.

Hmm, well then I guess it isn''t a good deal by any means. Guess I will keep looking. Thanks!

HI:

Notwithstanding the EGL question and acknowledging I am just about the last person to talk about proportions....but aren''t you comparing your round to a cushion shape?

I was thinking that too, this is a cushion diamond, not a round just to clarify.

Anyone else? I''m going to try and call engagement rings direct tomorrow and see what they have.

Cushions are best judged by pictures. Do you have any images of the stone? The depth/table percentages are fine so far...

I have seen it in person, no pictures, but I liked what I saw. I''m just worried that it''s more like a J SI1, and don''t want to overpay if the cert is in fact not EGL USA.

It''s possible, that it could grade lower. Does the stone come with a good return policy? If so you can get it independently appraised for about $100 and see the actual color/clarity grading.

I think this is an EGL Israel report, 10 digit number.

I just wanted to say that I think you are freakin awesome! You were so excited about this find and some posters down right ripped you apart. I know that the intentions were good and they only wanted you to get something that was worth the money. I commend you for doing the extra research and not being turned off by the harshness of some of he posts.

I don''t have anything to add except that I worked with Mark at ERD and he was extreamly helpful and I was looking for an EC so...with his reputation for finding great looking cushions, I know you''ll be happy. He''s found some J S1''s that are killer.

Good luck.

Yes.

I honestly didn't even look at the shape (assumed it was round), too busy looking at the numbers and report title. That's what I get for multi tasking

Sorry pmpkn, wish you would have said something!
