I have just bought my first diamond from a local jewelry store. It is a 1.02 carrot cushion cut diamond, G clarity, and SI1. I bought it from a friend of my brothers who works there. Anyways, he had originally told me the diamond was EGL-USA, but I think he may have been mistaken as the certificate only says EGL International. I honestly think he was not trying to full a fast one, as we were looking at a lot of different diamonds. Anyways, I was seeing if anybody knew how you could tell from the certificate number what country it came from. I read a lot of bad things about Israel and I hope mine is not certified by there. The certificate number starts off EGL301...
