EGL confirmation

I have an EGL laser inscribed diamond. The diamond is lasered EGL 295151637. I have contacted EGL International and EGL USA. Neither claims the diamond in there data base. Any ideas where I can confirm this stone?

Do you already own the stone or is it new and you can still return it? I hope the latter because EGL reports aren't all that accurate anyway, and I definitely would start over if that is the case.

I do own the stone. Strikes me strange that EGL won't confirm the cert. I doubt anyone would counterfeit an EGL cert. I also have the original sales receipt from a very reputable jeweler here in town. I suppose I can call them and see where they acquired the diamond.

What is the name of the EGL on the report? There are many different EGLs and it's possible that it's not EGL International or EGL USA.

I don't have the paper report. I only have the diamond and that is what is lasered on the diamond .

Why did the jeweller not give you the report if it has one?

Anything can be lasered on the diamond. You should have been given the EGL report at the time of purchase if there was one.

If the number is accurate, it's not EGL USA because they put a US in their numbers to separate themselves from EGL International.

Could be EGL Canada
