I know that EGL are soft on colour and clarity. What about cut? If it is an EGL ideal cut or H&A is that the same as GIA or AGS, or is it the same as with the other two?

Because a diamond shows an arrow pattern does not mean it is a true example of this cutting style, this tutorial will show the very strict criteria a diamond has to meet to be considered a true hearts and arrows cut.

So what your saying is before I do anything I should ask to see a idealscope and a sarin report to confirm what they are saying. I was just wondering if anyone new wether it was the same deal with EGL on the cut as it is with the other things.

AGS and GIA do not grade H&A patterning. (HRD has a new H&A grading that I have not fully seen). I have seen many EGL ideal cuts that most PS''ers would not consider to be ideal. You have to be careful and do your homework.

Yes indeed, also if you read the tutorial I linked above Anthony you will see it is not the case that if a diamond is touted as a hearts and arrows diamond, that it necessarily IS, and it is not something that Idealscope or Sarin can determine. If an undisputed hearts and arrows diamond is what you want, then look at some A Cut Above by Whiteflash, Cut by Infinity which Wink Jones sells if shopping online. If you want a diamond which displays a good arrow pattern but is not necessarily H&A, then a carefully chosen non branded well cut diamond might fit the bill.
