What exactly does an EGL certificate mean?? Is this as good as GIA??

certs are widely inconsistent. You need to find out what country it is from, most people only trust EGL-USA or Israel

Generally speaking it is not as good as GIA

The strata for certs is:

most everyone considers AGS
Most also consider GIA
some consider EGL USA

the frequently made recommendation is to then accept nothing else.

EGL has, as stated above, many variants. Unfortunately, EGL Israel has been cited to be among the worst...behind EGL Europe in their various appearances...which also isn't too good.

Which EGL are you referring to?

EGL USA is better then EGL Israel, etc...

EGL labs are known for their soft grading, but EGL USA has made strides in that department. I prefer AGS hands down. Then GIA.
