Catch an eternity by the toe!

I found the 5 diamonds I want to go in my five stone and placed the order this week with BGD. I''m so excited! The magic 5 are all F in color and .34 in size. After much deliberation, I chose the Nightingale setting. Thank you KTiceRN for creating such a beauty! I was really torn between that one and the classic open gallery basket on Brian''s site. But in the end, I really liked the two bezels on the side of the Nightingale giving it 7 stones total. This has significant meaning to me since my original wedding band had 7 diamonds in it.

So now I need to choose two eternity bands to flank each side of my five stone. I''m debating between this 3mm bead set and the smaller version 2mm Novela. Everything around town I''ve tried as been about 2.5 mm and looks fine. I just don''t want the two eternities to overwhelm the 5 stone but I want a solid look and for the eternity bands to support the queen so to speak.

Brian thought I would be fine with the 3mm rings and that it would bring the total stack to around 10mm.

What do you think?

I said the 2mm. I think it will add an awesome amount of sparkle, and will be size difference that would be perfect between that and the 5 stone! But then again I love dainty sparkle framing something more substantial.

Also a big thank you to KtIceRN, Bliss, elle_chris, and butterfly 17 for your great pics and inspiration! I've been drawn to the stack look for a while now and your pics really helped me make the leap.

Not a single vote so far for 3mm or 2.5mm. They must feel so lonely. hehe!

Lesley is awesome and said they had a 3mm today that they just finished and she would take some pics for me of that next to a double novela. She didn't have a single novela to photograph but the double will give me an idea of what it would look like if I wore the two 2mm together without the 5 stone.

DH had originally thought the 3mm so that I could wear one of them alone if I wanted and it wouldn't disappear on my finger. Also with the thought that it could go with a solitaire or 3 stone if we one day decide to do that again. Hmm, decisions-decisions.

I love the Novela. I''m about to order its slightly cheaper sister, the micropave band (mostly because it comes in WG and I''m not picky about the metal of this particular ring) once I sort out what size I want for stacking with my wedding set. I love a thin eternty band! So so gorgeous.

Update:

Thank you all for taking the time to vote!

I spoke with Lesley again and she sent me a quote for the 2.5 mm width and I decided to go for it. I''m so excited!

After much thought, I was worried the 2mm would be too dainty for me. The 2mm Novela contains .02 melee and the 2.5mm bands they are making for me will have .04 melee. So I opted for the "Goldilocks" size.

The bands will hopefully be done by the end of July.

Dare I say it? You were all right! 8)

After spending the day at the hospital on Friday (long story), I saw 2mm bands and even got to try them on. I called Lesley back to see if it would still be okay to change the order and she was so understanding and helpful! I think she agreed that the 2mm size would be better for me but always gracious, she didn't want to push in the decision making process.

So that brings this project to a close. At least until I get the rings and I can post pics.

Now I'm thinking of my next project: a sapphire and diamond eternity band. :Up_to_something:
