EC''s and Depth

As a companion post to the EC and Table size, what about EC Depth?

I know that if a lot of weight goes to the pavillion, the stone will look smaller, all other things being the same.

I also know that the desired range for depth is 60% - 65%, and definitely no more than 69%. But, is there an advantage for bigger depths (say 68% vs. 60%) -- for example, in brilliance, sparkle, etc.?

I prefer that the depth stay reasonable between 60% to 65% and will forgive a 69% depth if it is carrying that extra weight as crown height. If the crown height is very high, then there is the advantage of getting more fire or coloured light return. If all that weight is hidden in the pavilion, then there is no effect other than the stone will look smaller that it should.
