Remember how I had that guy take money from my PayPal account? Well, I got it back. But, they said the restriction would be on my account for a few days or whatever. Fine. 5 days later I bought something on Ebay and clicked to pay immediately, b/c that''s what I ALWAYS DO. I got all the way thru it, and then it said it couldn''t be completed b/c the restriction was still on my account. Ok. I contacted the seller and apologized profusely, said I would get a hold of Paypal and fix it. Called PayPal and after 5 minutes of the stupid verbal cue message crap got mad and hung up. I emailed them instead and they said it would take 2 days to get a reply. I emailed the seller back and let them know. Both times, seller said ok, no problem. So, get an email back from PP that says I have to confirm my credit card. Guess what, this takes 2 days. So I email seller and tell them, then I confirm the card and go to my PP account thinking the purchase would be there and I could just finish what I started-nope. Nowhere. Went back to Ebay, no way to "start over". Email seller again and explain the problem I''m having, and ask for an invoice, figuring there would be a link "seller asks you to pay by pay pal blah blah" to click on, and asked if they''d rather cancel and start over. Get an invoice, no link. It just says I bought this item. Am I dumb??? I emailed and said ok, no link to click to connect this purchase with pp, can we cancel it and I''ll just start over again? (it was a buy it now w/like, 10 available). 2 days later, no answer. I went to ebay again and now that purchase says there''s an open claim against the purchase or something b/c it''s not paid. I emailed seller again and tried to nicely say I''m trying to get it taken care of but I don''t know how, please cancel and I''ll start over b/c the restriction is gone-I can pay RIGHT AWAY now.

I feel like a complete IDIOT but I don''t know what else to do. I know you can just send money to their email account, but b/c I bought it thru Ebay I don''t know if I can do that. Am I missing something????

I''ve got 100% feedback (93, which isn''t much compared to some, but still!) and they''re all glowing about how IMMEDIATE the payment comes, and this really sticks in my craw.

Any ideas?

Hi Packrat,

It sounds like you''ve done all the right things. Is there any way to forward some of the correspondence from PayPal to the seller (without any vital information, of course) to show that you are rectifying the situation in the timeliest manner possible? I ran into these problems before with ebay and PayPal many years ago and always seemed to get it worked out, but it did take some effort.

The one thing I would stress is to keep documentation of ALL of your communication with both PayPal and the seller as you may need it to prove your efforts to solve the matter as best you were able. The seller could also send an inquiry to PayPal to confirm that the problem is being taken care of, but if they''re not responding to you, they may have just given up.

Sorry you''re having to deal with this...I know it''s a pain. Hope that helps...

What a lot of hoo-ha!

I hope it all works out for you.

ditto!

Thanks everyone! Doesn''t it just make a person feel better to blast it all out so it''s not sitting there festering?? HA!

Yep, Harleigh, I kept every email from PP, Ebay and the seller, just in case! I did finally hear back from the seller-they said if I gave them my email they''d send me a pp invoice, so I did, they did, I paid as soon as I saw it and now it''s done. WHEW! It wasn''t an ebay invoice, just a plain PP one for "goods", and I saved the invoice email etc.

Jeez, what a lot of stupid rigamarole you know?? Anyway, it''s done and I''m glad!

I''m glad you got that worked out...isn''t that just the most frustrating thing??? Sometimes things that should be so easy turn out to be the most ridiculously time-consuming things! Sorry you had to deal with that...

Ugh, Paypal. Nuff said! You have my sympathies... Sending good luck dust your way!

Good Luck! Paypal and I are still in a fight 5 months now. He didn''t want me to get married/change my name and is punishing me. Good luck, the customer service is not so great on the service side.

Crap, swimmer! I''ve been married for almost 2 years now and I STILL can''t get PayPal to change my name! I''ve faxed them everything I possibly can, called every number I can possibly find, and I am still back at square one. If you ever get your name change figured out, please do share!

I only had problems with PayPal once, when I had to change my Amex number and couldn''t confirm it. The service people were friendly and efficient, really helping me to get my accounts in order (there were several registration problems that would, some day, end up cancelling my account). It seems like the service I got was the exception. What a pity!

Good luck to everyone trying to solve paypal problems. Burocracry is a pain!

aww sorry Packy... hey just FYI,, when you go into confirm your credit card or bank card. For me when I use my bank card for confirmation, I can access online even the pending charges, there should be a four digit pin even on the pending transactions, so you don''t necessarily need to wait until it post. Good luck sweetie
