East West ring settings

Can folks share where they've found east west settings with or without a halo? Also may be interested in diagonal settings although haven't seen many of them around. No custom work as the idea is to keep cost down.......Any suggestions from those that have these rings? Thanks......

No problem! If you found an oval or cushion setting you like on any of the Cai Mao eBay sites, I am sure Kyo could modify the setting and make it for you in the east west orientation. He has always come through for me on modifying settings and has given me the best pricing .

You might try the Stuller website and search for “east west setting”. If you have a local jeweler, they could set it for you, as long as the stone is more or less close to a standard size. I have a few various Stuller settings from my local jeweler and they are sturdy and well made.

Don't want to thread jack, but @2Neezers have you sent them your stones directly, or had them make settings for your stone specs and then had the piece set locally?

good question lovedogs.......I'm curious too. I wish Stuller were an option but the size is not calibrated so modification will be necessary.

Hi @lovedogs and @digdeep. I haven’t sent them stones to set, but that’s just because I get anxious about shipping stones internationally. I give Kyo all of my stone specs and then have my stone set locally. I was lucky to find a local jeweler who loves CS and sets my stones at a very reasonable price.

OK...........2Neezers.......have you had any rings made that are rose gold? I have no idea if rose gold would be a different rose/red color coming from China? The pic's make it looks that way to me, but maybe I'm reading them wrong?

@digdeep I’m sorry I haven’t ever order rose gold from them. All of my pieces are white gold - I’m kind of boring when it comes to trying different metals. Someone here had a blingy two tone tourmaline halo ring made by their other store leejewelry recently, and I think it might have had rose gold as one of the metals, but I could be wrong about that. I tried to find the thread, but had no luck. There used to be a lot of people on the forum with LOGR/Lord of Gem Rings from China and I would guess their rose gold would look the same if you can find pictures of those ring. I should also mention that the setting aren’t as heavy weight as say a DK setting, more along the line of Ivy & Rose, but for the price I have been very pleased. I’m not hard on my rings and don’t wear them everyday, so they have held up with no issues for me. I also have only upgraded diamonds in their settings one time for a special stone, most of the settings I have ordered have tiny melee and it looks great, but for larger melee or special pieces it might be worth paying a little extra to upgrade diamonds. Just some things I thought I should mention to consider

@digdeep I don't know about your vendor but the RG I get from China is a bit more yellow than the RG Jeff Davies and Whiteflash made for me.

JD and Whiteflash rose gold is more pink.

Thanks........This is what I'm wondering. I have some rose gold that is based on Stuller's ratio and love it so am a bit concerned about tint variations--and I suspect JD and Whiteflash would be consistent with stateside colors for RG.

hehe if it makes you feel any better I tried the Tiffany bow cuff in 2 sizes in rose gold and the gold colour was completely off between size small and size medium. One was waaaaay more yellow and my friends were really questioning the colour. So even Tiffany's can't get it consistent!
