earlobe holes, how many?

Hey Everybody!

How many earlobe holes do you have and use on a regular basis? I have two in my left lobe and one in my right (I was in high school and it was cool at the time...). I was thinking about how I should either:

1) get another pierce on the right to make my earlobes match, keeping in mind that I''m 42 now....

2) let the extra on on the left grow shut and only use the lower holes

3) keep them as is but get a teeny tiny stud to wear in the upper left, while wearing whatever I want in the lower.

What would you do? Any opinions?
Thanks!

I just have 1 hole in each ear. I think it''s one of those things that is to each their own. I have a girlfriend who has 3 holes in one ear, and 5 in the other. Just a matter of taste.
Personally, I''m all about symmetry, so I''d even up one direction or another. But that''s just me.

I have one in each ear, and I''ve always *wanted* three in each ear. I''m 31 now, and I wonder if the time has passed when I hear y''all talk about letting them grow together now. I also wonder what to do when one switches metal shades - do you switch all three pairs? Have tiny studs in WG, YG, and black rhodium? What?!? Inquiring minds want to know.

To answer the original question, though, I recommend getting the additional hole, and being my role model in the wonderful world of multiple earring sets.

I have four holes in each of my ears. Two in each ear are in the lob, and the other two are cartilage (one industrial - which is two holes, one conch, and one regular cartilage). I had to take everything out at my last job, because of the no-jewelry-in-a-manufacturing-plant-rule. I would kind of like to get the industrial put back some day, because it's cool, but not noticeable unless my hair is up. Not sure if I will though.

I have the two in my lobe, but I never ever use the second hole anymore. I did accidentally stick an earring through the second hole in one ear and the regular hole in my other ear, and wondered why they looked so lop-sided

Eventually I realized I stuck one in the wrong hole. Goes to show you that once holes are healed, they never really close up.

I have 3 in my left ear, one in the right. And as a bonus - a belly button ring. I utilize any place in my body where I can wear diamonds.

If i were you, I''d go with option 3). But I''m biased, I just love the look.

I had one in each for 20+ years. Then I decided I needed to be hip and get the second hole in each ear.

I like unusual or funky or swingy or whatever earrings. Studs and small hoops don't fit who I am, so 2 earrings in each ear didn't look quite right. And it became a hassle to match 2 pairs up, and boring to just wear the same WG or sterling ball studs. It just wasn't me.

The indentions are still there, but the holes are closed up.

I have seven or eight piercings in each ear. I can''t remember which.

I only wear one in each on a regular basis.

I have two in each lobe but haven''t worn earrings in years because you can''t really see them due to my long hair. Also, much as I''d like to be, I''m not really good at accessorizing. My holes don''t close, which is fine with me. Once in a while I put an earring through each hole just to make sure they are still open - it''s nice to have options. I''ll probably wear one earring in each lobe during my upcoming wedding.

I have 3 in each lobe, but only use the first one.

I also have the top of my right ear pierced, and I used to have the middle of my ears pierced. (between the lobe and the top)

Wow you all are quick to respond! I''m still undecided, however, does anyone know where to get just one tiny tiny stud? Any online vendors?

Thanks!
BG

I have 5 in each ear-3 in the lobe and 2 in the cartilage. I got a little crazy with the piercings when I turned 18. I only wear studs in the first holes now.

None, but I am thinking of changing this one day for a pair of OECs.

I think two in each ear can be really pretty . I love seeing hoops bottom with studs above. I have singles, but it''s cuz I''m too chicken to get more haha

That is exactly what I have. I have diamond studs in the top hole everyday and then I change up the bottom earrings sometimes, but usually they are little gold hoops with just a tiny bit of bling in them. Ya know, to match the studs.

Just 1 in each ear! I have a nose ring and I''d love an industrial.

I once commented to a girl that I liked her piercings and asked how many she had. She said, 8, and began to point to and name off piercings. At 8 she trailed off...and then I realized we''d gone below the belly button.

I have one in each and have never wanted more
though I have contemplated piercing my navel.
(I won''t)
To me more than one makes a statement, kinda like
wearing a ring on your thumb.

I have two in each ear. I wear diamond studs in the second holes and then whatever earrings I want in the lower ones. If I were you i''d get the second hole pierced and fill it with some diamonds!

Ouch!

lol

Yikes! Too much information! I''ll stop at the ear lobes, thanks!

I have two holes in each ear that I use daily. I used to have a third hole in my left ear and a cartilage piercing in my right, but I took both of those out long ago.

Just one hole per ear. I wanted a second pair for so long, I just never got the guts to have it done, and now I strangely just don't want them anymore.

I have two on each side, plus a cartilage piercing on my right ear, and a piercing halfway between my upper cartilage and my lobes on my right (used to have one on my left but it got infected - ick). Sometimes I''m lazy or I''m wearing pearls so I only wear earrings in my lower set of holes but usually I wear earrings in both. I figure, since I have the second set, might as well use them!

I have three in each ear, the upper ones have diamond studs, the lower one switches between a stud and a hoop.

I''d keep it as is - it''s the easiest no brainer thing to do lol

I have two - always kinda wanted 2 more but am too chicken. The first two were traumatic!

Three in each ear.

I have 3 piercings in each lobe, sometimes I use them all, sometimes just one on each side, sometimes two. On my left ear I wear a stud in the cartilage, about where the diagram points to 'industrial', and my 'rook' on my right ear is pierced with a teensy gold hoop and ball. And I have a belly button ring, but that's as far as it goes

Two lobes.. which at one point were 1 1/8" and the other was about 4g or 2g? I didn''t keep the second holes very big because I need more room for the front ones. I also had my helix pierced.

I still haven''t repierced my lobes (looking at that very soon) and when I do... I plan on only wearing one set at a time. But, we''ll see.

I have just one hole in each ear and that''s how it''s going to stay! After having my left pierce cut out and stitched (my lobe had to be repaired after I caught a hoop earring on something) and then my lobe repierced, I couldn''t imagine going through that pain again.

You were way more daring than I was with your ears.... But I did go crazy with *ahem* other body parts.

I have two holes in each ear but I only use the original bottom holes now. I got my second ones done in college, and while it was fine back then, I feel like I''ve outgrown the look now. I''m not even sure earrings would fit in my second holes anymore.
