So I did a search on e-weddingbands.com and found tons of positive reviews...BUT they all seem to be for plain platinum/wg/gold wedding bands. So my question is...has anyone ordered a band with diamonds and/or gemstones on it? What did you think of the quality of the stones?

In case anyone remembers that I already have a wedding band...don''t worry! I just decided I want to get my mom a really nice ring as my present for her at our wedding and was looking at diamond/sapphire bands, and found this one which is exactly what I wanted, but it is SO CHEAP I can''t help but worry about the quality. Everything else seemed to start at around $600 for similar types of things.... So, do we (the PS community) think that e-weddingbands is ALWAYS a great deal, or only for metal bands??

Picture didn''t work the first time...

Love the color of blue of the sapphires. You''re a great daughter

Hehe, I have to admit...the reason I came up with this idea is seeing all the nice things various PS-ers were giving their mothers and feeling like, hey, I love my mom too!

I was looking at the ruby version of that for my mom. My brother and I were both born in July. It has been the cheapest I was able to find but I was worried about the quality too. I hope someone knows!

Yeah, I was thinking about rubies too! Neither one is my/my brother''s/my mom''s birthstone, but her engagement ring is a ruby (set in yg though, but one of the prongs is broken so she doesn''t ever wear it), and she wears blue almost every day. So I''ll probably end up with one or the other of those!

Or just a plain diamond 5-stone or something? Not sure yet....but it sure would be nice to only spend $150 on this one if I could feel confident about the quality!

What''s their return policy on such a ring? Might be worth it to check it out, if you don''t like it and the return policy is good you can just put it back in the mail. There''s still time between now and Mom''s day.

I did think, at the title of the thread...hmmm, she''s already got a VW wedding band!!!! hehehe

Hehe, sorry to confuse you!

I thought about just ordering it after I''m sure about their return policy, but now that I''m looking around more I''m not sure it''s my favorite style....my obsession of the moment is this WF 5 stone...mmmmmm...

BUT does anyone know the total ct weight of that picture?? Because the rings you can buy on that page range from .25 tcw to 1.25 which is a BIG range and I know those are a lot more than .25 total, but just curious how different it would look with the smaller stones...

But I''m still considering the e-weddingbands one if anyone has commentary on that!!

Also: random opinion poll - do you think it''s weird to get your mom a diamond ring? The first ones I was looking at looked quite a bit like my wedding ring and that just weirded me out somehow which is why I started looking at sapphires in the first place. Since most of the diamond only ones I''ve seen are officially "wedding bands." Is that weird to give your mom???

I just bought that WF ring and received it today.

I got the 1 cttw and it looks like the pic. SO my guess is the pic is the 1ct.

Mexi, I hope you''ll post some hand-pics! I think that is a beautiful ring!

Albi, I think I''ll give you a mom''s opinion. Of course, I am a mom who really likes diamonds and jewelry, and I don''t know your mom''s taste at all. And I think your idea to get her something is as sweet as it can be. But I am really particular about rings and prefer not to get them as a surprise. I think earrings or a pendant are so much safer and are a lovely gift as well. Oh, a bracelet could work, too. My siblings and I gave our mother a 14k white gold bracelet for Christmas and she loved that. I just think you''ll be hard pressed to find a ring with gemstones that is really nice for that price, whereas you could get a pendant or bracelet that would be.

Mexi - thanks for the info!! I would looooove to see handshots too!

Diamondseeker - I really appreciate your mom-opinion!

However, the main reason I want to get my mom a nice piece of jewelry is because she really doesn't have any. When she saw my engagement ring and wedding ring, she totally lit up, and then commented on how she was sad that she had a plain gold wedding band because when she got married she never even thought about what she liked, she just thought this was "a wedding band" and that was that. And also that her engagement ring was an heirloom ruby but it had a broken prong so she could never wear it out anyway. She wears a good amount of $40 silver earrings or necklaces, but she has never bought a substantial piece for herself, nor has my dad bought her one. I don't blame him for that though, since I'm positive she would tell him not to waste their money on it! But also her parents have both died in the past few years so she and her sisters were going through the inherited jewelry dividing it up and deciding to sell a few pieces, and just seeing her playing with all the fancy jewelry, combined with her reaction to my wedding set, combined with her disappointment in her own wedding ring....just really made me see that even though she is a practical person who doesn't think that's "worth" spending her money on, she still loooooves jewelry and would really appreciate a nice piece. All the inherited pieces she got are very formal, so I wanted to get her something for every day wear that she could see and appreciate. I kind of doubt she would bother to put on a bracelet or pendant every day.... And I also am positive that she would tell me not to spend so much money if she knew I was planning this, so it has to be a surprise, or she'll end up with a $12 silver ring made for a 10 year old!

In any case, I have been reconsidering the e-weddingbands ring because it really does just seem TOO cheap to possibly be that nice. For a platinum band, if it's guaranteed platinum then I don't see a reason to pay more for craftsmanship as long as these look nice, but when diamonds and sapphires are added to the mix...I just doubt they can be that nice for that price. So my new favorite (yes I am kind of obsessing, even though my wedding (when I want to give this to her) is over a year away!

) is this Mondera ring. I looked at all the PS vendors but this is the one I liked the best...anyone have any comments?

This one looks much nicer to me!

How sweet you want to give your mom something!

How about a necklace instead of a ring? This way, you don't have to worry about sizing. I don't know your budget but I think these would be nice if the price is right for you.

http://www.whiteflash.com/golden-wardrobe/Gold_Details.aspx?ItemCode=WF-XOP&CategID=7 - this one comes in yellow gold too if you want to match her wedding rings.

edit: I just saw why you wouldn't want to give your mom a necklace so ignore my suggestions! LOL!
I much prefer the Mondera ring over the first one. I think that one was too prongy.
