Hello Everyone,

I was thinking of spending <$2000 on an e-ring. I like the "floating" type settings, tension rings with a bridge. Top choice so far: Setting..from Robbins Bros. SKU#00654347 with an ECHO Diamond .51ct, I1, L, well cut. RB''s price is $895 for the stone, $450 for the setting, and $75 for setting fee, Total= $1420 +tax. I like the service benefits RB provides, however it seems a better deal could be had buy Buying online. Do any online sellers give comparable perks as the B&M stores: cleaning, guaranteed replacement and fixing with free 6 month check ups.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Now, you want a lower price, and the best service. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Yes?

And that those 2 normally go together?

There are actually a few e-tail vendors who have a physical presence - but you need then to find one near you.

Where do you live?

Either LA or Houston.

You should be able to get a better deal from Robins Bros than you think. Be honest with them. Tell them you like the stone and their service, but are considering buying on the internet because you are on a budget. A good friend did just that at a Robins Bros recently and got them to reduce their asking price significantly.

ALthough I assume (could be totally wrong) that they have less room negotiate on less expensive stones.

I live in San Diego. Any recommendations of stores in the vicinity would be greatly appreciated. It''s always easier to start with a recommendation when I walk in the door.

1000cranes - I strongly recommend taking a look at Whiteflash. I started my search at Robbins Bros in LA and ended up making my purchase at Whiteflash. Their service is outstanding and I got so much for my money than I was going to get at RB, I am so glad I bought online.

As far as the service benefits that RB gives you, while they are nice, they are not completely necessary. The guaranteed replacement is only valid as long as you go every 6 months to get it checked. If you miss one checkup (like if you go out of town), then the warranty is void. Also, many jewelers will clean your ring for free or only about $10 - also, check-ups are very inexpensive as well.

Again, the amount you save on the ring online (or the higher quality of diamond you can get for the same price) may be worth giving up the few benefits RB offers - it was for me!

Hope this helps.
