Does she want to wear her wedding band flush against her engagement ring? If so that's not the setting for you.

For one thing it has a donut that won't allow for a flush band. For another the three sides pave isn't meant to be worn next to anything. If you put pave next to it, the stones will rub and break each other. If you put a plain band next to it the pave will scratch the ever living heck out of it.

Did she pick this style or is it just something that looked good to you?

I think its a nice ring that most girls (myself included) would love to own.

One thing to note is thats pave settings are not recommended for people who are heavy on their hands as the tiny diamonds are so delicately held in place that you need to treat them with care. So if your gf was a gardener or a doctor I wouldn't recommend it. That said it is very beautiful and similar settings are very popular.

I think it's beautiful- but before you make a decision think about the issues gypsy raised.

Thanks so much for the input. My gf is a doctor. I saw her browsing the internet with that design. I think we need to find a new design. Your inputs are all very helpful.

I'm thinking that if your gf is a doctor than its likely that she won't be wearing her diamond to work everyday, and more likely just wearing her wedding band, so it may not be a huge issue. Has she mentioned if she will or won't be wearing it everyday? Also a lot of people like the look of a spacer between their ering and wedder, stacking is very popular right now. I wouldn't dimiss the design out right, but I would talk with your gf and get an idea of how she will be wearing her set daily. Gypsy brings up very good points if she wants to wear them together everyday.

I agree! Also if the pave is done correctly then the ring should still hold up. I wouldn't recommend doing hard labor while wearing it but for everyday stuff you should be fine....once again if done correctly! Brian is great to work with so call him and see what he thinks.

I wear gloves for my work and anything with prongs is worrisome. I think the best solution is two rings, a smaller, low set, half/semi bezel for work and her official engagement ring for after work and weekends:D

Thank you so much. Honestly I have never thought about that issues regarding to the setting that we have chosen. I just sent an email to Lesley at Brian Gavin about that. Initially we were looking for a setting with a tiffany six prong setting with round diamonds in channel setting with Excel Diamonds. We really like it. But we opt for a smaller band because my gf fingers are very small and we love the delicate setting when the band width is smaller. I think the one with Excel Diamonds have 3-4mm band width. Maybe I'll try to mention that to Brian Gavin if the could custom made a channel setting but will have a thinner width. What do you think?

Thank you for all your inputs. I'm all thumbs about this thing.
