Hi Folks,

After countless hours learning and researching, I'm finally getting close to a decision, but for some reason it still feels like I'm miles away. This is probably down to the nervousness of making a decision with my basic level of knowledge and the risk of overlooking something obvious. I'm hopefully looking for some assistance to navigate this ocean of information to help get over that final hurdle.

General Requirements:
- Cut: AGS 0 ideally (at least GIA 3 x Ex, HCA < 1.5). Given that we are getting a smaller stone, cut is the most important factor.
- Size: .8 - .95 (ideally .9)
- Colour: G-I (ideally H)
- Clarity: VS1- SI1 (ideally VS2) But an eye clean SI1 is perfectly fine
- Budget: 5k

Nice to have:
Total depth between 59 – 61.8%
Table diameter between 53 – 57%
Crown angle between 34.3 – 34.8 degrees
Pavilion angle between 40.6 – 40.9 degrees
Girdle: thin, medium or slightly thick (or combination thereof)
Culet: GIA none or AGS pointed

I have contacted a number of vendors (including GOG, JA, BN, WF, Ritani, Wink, ) and have the following diamonds on my shortlist.

Option 1: 0.91 H SI1 4700 1.7

I have requested more images. Anyone have any thoughts on the inclusions visible in the 360' view at the above link? Anything to be worried about?

Option 2: 0.81 G VS2 4898 1.1

Option 3: 0.8 G SI1 4315 1.2

Option 4: 0.8 f vs1 4320 1.7

Option 5: 0.77 H VS1 4708 1

Looking for opinions on the options above in terms of
- Are there any diamonds that stand out above the rest? (hopefully no sneak goes and buys it from under my nose as a result of posting here :shifty: )
- Which diamond is the best value given the price?
- Are there any obvious concerns or weaknesses of the diamonds listed that I should be aware of?

I would also very much appreciate any other suggestions you might have that meet the above criteria.

Thanks in advance.

Ideally, at least for myself, if i was spending 5k i would want more than .8 cts.

Heres one i would include in my 3 to reserve from JA. Id make sure it was eye clean and get an idealscope, but worth taking a spot to get the idealscope

I know the symm is VG, but again, i would include this one

My eye prefers stones deeper that 62, so i included this one in the list liked.

Thanks for the reply.

The diamond above seems to have quite obvious black inclusions right in the middle of the table. I would have assumed this was to be avoided?

In terms of this option, is the slightly thick girdle anything to be worried about? And the difference between vg / ex symmetry something to be concerned about?
F colour is also a little more than I need/want so this would seem to be unnecessary cost.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Lost of inclusions are obvious at 20x + zoom. Doesn't mean it's not eye clean. Someone would need tocreciew it.

As for the f. It was in your budget. Other well cut His were not. Don't exclude it if it meets your criteria just because it exceeds it.

I think this are nice stones to take the next step and get idealscopes for, as there's no reason to get just one from James Allen. They will review and compare against one another as opposed to yes/no vote.

I recommended all of these after viewing the gia reports so I did not find anything on them particularly alarming.
