Hi, all.
I am new to the forum. I have been reading for quite a while, and I wanted to share the experience and ask for feedback for my purchase.
We just purchased diamond ring from Micheal's Jewelers in Connecticut. I have attached AGS report.
With discount, the stone itself came out to be $15300 and they claimed it to be hearts and arrows. 1.654ct AGS0 I VS2.
I have been searching and seeing online prices, but the reason we went for the local store is that my Fiance wanted try on the stone and setting physically at store before buying, and the store offered life time unlimited trade-in for upgrade.
I understand the price that i paid is higher compared to similar stone that can be found online, but would it still be considered to be fair price at least? Anyone know anything about Michael's Jewelers?
Thanks in advance for input!!

Hmm.

Well, Depends on your definition of reasonable.
I just asked chatted with JA to check to see if this one is an AGS0. They said it is and are loading the lab report for it (wasn't uploaded for some reason).

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/1.66-carat-i-color-vs2-clarity-sku-267385 13,200 and it's pretty much an apples for apples comparison. Same carat weight and color. Same lab report (they'll have it loaded soon they say, probably 24 hours). And this one is hearts and arrows as well.

$13,200

So you would have to decide if the extra $2000 is fair given your experience with the store.

Here's the lab report for the JA stone (they sent it to me, in the meanwhile).

JA also have an trade in and upgrade policy.
