I was very lucky to get enough gift cards to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to afford a Dyson, which we really need with two dogs! My dilemma is that I can''t decide between the different Dyson Animals that are out there. The DC07 Animal and the DC15 The Ball Animal. Has anyone had any experience with either of these?

Thanks!

What''s the difference between them? We''re thinking about registering for a Dyson but we don''t have one yet. Sorry I can''t help you. We have two cats and we need a great vacuum. We also have berber carpet throughout our house, and I swear that the cat hairs get stuck in the weave of the rug.

I feel like that vacuuming with the one we have now isn''t cutting it.

I''m interested in seeing the responses.

Honestly, you can''t go wrong with either of them. I registered for the DC17 if I recall correctly.

I''m surprised people actually like these Dysons. Aren''t they the ones without a bag? To me that''s gross, and messy and unsanitary. As someone with allergies, I''d hate to have to dump that mess out everytime the canister needed cleaning. Yuk!

We have a cannister Miele and I love them. I''ll never have another brand of vacuum ever! They make wonderful HEPA models with super duper air filtration and when you have to change the bag you just pop open the cannister and pull two cardboard tabs and the opening on the bag closes and you throw it away...et viola! Perfecto.

We love love love our Dyson Ball. It is super easy to maneuver and very simple to empty. And Surf, luckily the designers of the Dyson have done a fantastic job designing the canister. When you take it out of the machine, it''s completely closed. Then you just hold it in/over a trash bag and click a button and the bottom slides open to dump everything. So while it''s probably not *quite* as sanitary as a miele canister, its super easy to empty and doesn''t really make a mess. And you never have to buy canisters.

So for us, it works. And we have 2 dogs and a cat!

Good to know! The only thing (so far, since I''ve test driven them) I don''t like about Dysons is how heavy and bulky they are. I know there''s the slim version but still...

Now you''ve got me thinking, Surfgirl, I wonder how other bagless/HEPA models rate in comparison to Dysons. Hmmm...

zoe, the Miele''s aren''t bagless...but I do love em!

TGuy''s mum loves Miele and TGuy and I were thinking about it, but he totally got into the Dyson. We have the slim, and personally I don''t think I could handle the weight of the bigger one...I''d just hate to lug it up and down the stairs. However if there were no stairs, no problem.

I just take the canister out and dump it outside in the apartment dumpster. Easy. I never sneeze and before I used to go nuts with allergies by vacuuming with the Dirt Devil.

we have a yorkie and didn''t buy the "animal" dyson. we just got the standard one. honestly, it''s all we need! i''m glad we did spend more bucks for the more pricey models.

I have the dyson slim and LOVE it! It''s light enough to move around and the hand attachment works nicely. Originally, I had planned to get one of the Animal models, but they''re almost a $100 more and that seemed like far to much. The slim is over priced enough as it is, but it works GREAT in cleaning up the hair from my five cats AND it doesn''t have an icky vaccuum cleaner smell that gets left behind after I vaccuum.

I used one of the 20% off coupons from BB&B and saved $100!

I really wanted to get a Miele canister vacuum, but my FI is concerned about ''dragging it around'' when vacuuming...

Hmph...as though he''s going to be vacumming ;-)

I wonder if they''re ever going to make a Dyson Animal Slim...or a Slim Animal.

I didn''t know that I can use a 20% off coupon for Dyson vacuum. Did you use a coupon that they sent in your mail? I planed to get one at Costco, but it''s cheaper with 20% off at Bed Bath and beyond.

Not to answer for MC, but yes, definitely use the ones that come in the mail! I read the fine print and Dyson is NOT on the excluded list!! I haven''t bitten the bullet yet, but thanks to everyone for their input! Plan on getting the one this weekend!!
