I wasn''t exactly sure in which forum but hopefully my fellow PSers will have some suggestions. I have a very low-set cushion with no space between the stone and the four-prong setting. I''ve had the ring for close to three months and it has always been eye clean with no visible inclusions. More recently I''ve been noticing what appear to be small dust specs near the center the diamond (on very close inspection), I believe they are trapped beneath the stone and are reflections. At first I freaked out thinking they might be inclusions but after a good cleaning some of them disappeared. However, despite using a number of cleaning techniques, professional jewelry cleaner, good old dish soap and hot water and even used compressed air to dry the ring some of the dust/dirt/whatever persists. I am not willing to have it professionally cleaned or put in an ultrasonic as my band is micropave and the small diamonds have a tendency to pop out (this already happened 2x this year). Any suggestions or thoughts how I can best clean my setting nearest the bottom of the stone? It''s really annoying me. Thanks!
