I know this may not affect many on here, but it is possible that the oil spill will directly affect my state, and it is starting to affect others. I just wondered if we might spare some dust that it will somehow get contained and not cause as much damage as they are predicting. It is something I''ve been worrying over all day today and yesterday. IF it hits our coast line I plan to volunteer to help how I can, but I know it will already affect many things in the gulf coast waters.

I pray that the oil spill is contained as best as possible! Lots of dust for the people and animals that are directly or indirectly affected by this!

Yeah-this doesn''t look good! My DH is from Southern Louisiana and I went to LSU, we have lots of friends and family who will be majorly impacted by this:-( not to mention the damage to the Gulf Coast environment and wildlife...

DF, are you from Louisiana? I''ve always wanted to visit there!

I hope there is as minimum impact as possible to wildlife and coastline alike.

I would volunteer if I could, I''m sorry I can''t.

Dust.

I''m from Florida... they have been talking of it spreading as far as here... and it will for sure affect our fishing... and if it affects our fishing then it affects the entire food chain in the Gulf. Even if the oil doesn''t make it here. But They have said it might reach our coast... considering it could take up to 90 days to cap the well that is pouring it out... and the currents will start to push it in an Easterly direction before it turns south with the flow of the Gulf currents. The entire gulf coast will be affected in some way.
