I want to get everyone's opinion on the custom split shank ring that I have been working on with Bridgette Durnell over the last couple of weeks. I am very happy with the drawings that she has done for me, however, I am unsure of some of the finer details such as size of melee being used. Any feedback would be welcomed.

the details that they have provided me are as follows:

-the split will go to 2 or 2:30, at which point the shank will merge into a single band.
-melee will extend to "4 o' clock" on the shank
-they recommended 3/4 pt melee in the split part of the band
- 1 and 1/2 pt melee where shanks merge
-shank below the split will measure 2.5 mm (seems slightly thick to me, as only using 1 and 1/2 melee)
-millgrain boarding all melee
-in addition to the diamonds shown in the V bar of the head, there will be 3 stones on either side of the shank where the prongs merge with the shank ( the part of the band that sits just above the top of the finger )

may be forgetting some details but hoping for opinions.

It looks good and I'd trust her instincts. That said, she's done a split shank before for a pricescoper and I pretty much thought it was perfect. Does she have pictures of that one?

From those drawing its really hard to tell, can you blow it up a bit? Do you have any inspiration photos we could compare too?

Do you have contact details for Bridget that you could pass on? I'd be interested in her helping me with a project I'm lining up.

Chel, if you google her she has a website. Bridget Durnell. She can also be reached through Pearlmans Jewelers.

Gypsy, I know what ring you are talking about. I have it bookmarked as one of the rings that I have used as inspiration for this ring, it is awesome. I guess the detail that I am most concerned about, and want to make sure is right is the size of melee being used.

From what I can see from the small drawing, the ring looks very pretty and well-proportioned. Best wishes with your lovely project!

What are your diamond's measurements? What shape is it (what types of square).

it is a 1.86 princess cut. the dimensions are 6.66 x 6.66

I think the point size is fine!!!
