I''m just curious--can anyone show me what "bowtie" looks like? I have heard the term a lot and I just don''t know what it looks like.

I''m afraid that my stone has one (not that it matters...I love it anyway because my honey gave it to me...I just want to know for my own personal education)

Ali ... I peeked back at your pictures & don''t think your stone has a troublesome "bow-tie" if *any* at all. All stones that have four quadrants like that have some kind of reflection from some angles ... but the term "bow tie" is usually about a very pronounced darkness that really affects the beauty of a stone.

Your ring ROCKS! Fahgggetaboutit.

well, it''s sort of an abstract bow tie. if you picture a man''s bow tie..wide at the ends and the little knot in the middle, that is the effect folks are taking about. or put 2 triangles together points facing and that is the dark area...that''s the bowtie..
