Hello ladies!

As some of you know, I'm a lady in waiting, not a BWW. I was watching Say Yes to the Dress and couldn't help but run upstairs, and get out my old senior prom dress from 06'! I tried it on and fiddled with it a bit to change the silhouette. So, the question is, which do you like, and what on earth would you call the second one? It's not quite a mermaid... but it's not exactly a-line either...

Or this one...

I like the second shape best...trumpet shape I believe is that is called.

I think you have the shape to pull it off and the princess look swallows you up. You got it so show it!

I think the first sillouette makes you look much sleeker and slimmer! You are of course, slim and hvea lovely figure, but I feel like the first style draws attention to your waist making it look very slim, whereas the second draws attention to your tushy... which maybe you like ::) But my vote is the first.

I like them both...the first one makes you look slimmer and the second makes you look curvier so it all depends on the
look you like.

between those two...I prefer the first one. With the fit-and-flare/trumpet/mermaid styles, I really think it depends on the dress itself-some dresses really work and some not as much

100% the first picture - very beautiful!

Thank you for the opinions ladies! I was honestly leaning towards the second one, but I can definitely see how the first makes me look slimmer. I'm going to broaden my search for dresses to include a-lines. I was just trying to get an idea of what looks best. Thanks again for all your help! :D

I think I like the first best. Both look lovely though! Your prom dress was so pretty! :appl:

One more vote for the first one too!

I actually don't think the second look is unflattering.. I just think it makes your hips look wide because of the placement of the black lace. With an A-line skirt it's slimming. With a fitted skirt, the black is giving you a horizontal line right before your widest part (hips are widest on 90% of women, not trying to be rude!) kind of cutting you off. I think the shape of both dresses look great on you though.

I think both shapes look good on you. The first one does look more slimming but you've got a great body so you can definitely pull off the curvy look too. I think it depends on the dress. The second shape would probably look amazing if the black part wasn't there.
