So one of my bridesmaids and I went shopping for dresses this past weekend and I found 4 that I love. But one that I think might be the one I''m gonna order! But I wanted to show you gals and see what you think. I also tried on the Melissa Sweet Dora which has been my "dream dress" for a long time and it didn''t look very good on me, which is great because it''s actually 4 times my budget... Haha.

So here''s the dress I love the most! My bridesmaid said it''s very "me".

(can I just add that resizing pictures drives me bonkers?!?

OOOOOOH!!! That pleated bustline and the detailing on the skirt are incredibly romantic!!! I also loke the the way the draped waist gives you such a sweet hourglass figure!

It''s sweet and kinda sexy, but very elegant and romantic, with the taffeta flower detail enmeshed in the folds of the skit being the sweetest, most romantic detail!!

Are you wearing a veil? Are you ordering this Ivory color? How about your hair?

I agree with your bridesmaid, this is so YOU! You really look like THE BRIDE, you know what I mean?

Here''s the next one. Both are Maggie Sottero and kinda similar but this one is supposed to be more of a "slight mermaid". It was a tid bit too small so it''s bunching a little.

This is pretty on you, too, but it doesn''t have the "wow" or the romance of the other. I also love the super-teeny waist the first one gives you.

Oh there''s this veil that I liked. I don''t like long veils, but I''m not sure if this ones goes with the dress. I''d order it in the same color as the first dress. And sorry for looking like such a goooooober in these pictures! Man!

Okay, here are the other two that I found at a different salon. I''m posting these out of order. We went to this salon first.

I loved this one but would''ve gotten the blue sash in a different color.

Number 1 it looks like it was made for you (very jealous of your teeeny tiny waist)

I had to laugh at the face you pulled in the first pic (in a good way) I would so do something exactly the same :D

Thanks for your comments Mediterranean! To answer your questions.. I do want to wear a veil but I''m not sure which style would look best with this dress. There''s that short one in the photo that I liked.. But I feel like it doesn''t go? I don''t want a long veil because I feel like I''m wearing a cape or something.

This color is called "light gold" and I LOVE it. I would definitely order it in this color. The only thing I''m worried about is that this dress comes in two different fabrics. The one in the photos is french taffeta, and then it comes in regular taffeta. The french taffeta is about $500 more but sooo pretty and rich and textured looking. I''m curious about the regular taffeta and if the dress would have the same feel. The regular taffeta is kinda shiny and lighter and felt kinda flimsy (she showed me a fabric sample). But is it nuts to spend $500 more on fabric that''s slightly more structured and matte?? Ah I don''t know!

As for hair... I have no idea! I think I want to wear it maybe half up half down, with big curls, but I''m not sure. Any suggestions?

I LOVE THAT DRESS (the first one) it is sooo romantic- and it flatters you well. aw, it is beautiful!

I like the first, very flattering on your figure. I think a long veil would look nice. You have gorgeous curves and a longer veil would smooth everything without adding any fluffiness around your face.

I also love the first one - definitely the most flattering and I love the detail on it! I''m not sure about the fabric, is there a way they could get a sample of the dress in the other taffeta?

Wow--that first one is AMAZING! It looks so good on you! It looks dreamy and sweet and perfect, and it is awesome on your figure. I really like the way the bodice fits you. I don''t think it could get much better! I think your search is over =).

What about a long, skinny veil? That''s what I personally like the most. It wouldn''t feel so much like a cape, and it would complement the dress. You can always ditch the veil for the reception if you don''t feel comfortable in it.

Pearldahhling -- I never commented on your "Belinda" thread because I was thinking - well, that looks really pretty on her, but I get the feeling that it isn't really "her" -- but how silly is that? I don't even know her?!

Well, I still don't really know you, yet I have to say that this first dress looks so much more like you! It's unique and just oozing personality, and it's made for a bride who's not afraid to take some chances.

Good luck with your decision!

You + First dress = knockout.

''nuff said.

I LOVE symphony (the first one) on you! I think it would look nice in both tafettas, but if you''re really set on the french tafetta, you should go with that. If you want that fabric, but don''t want to spend the extra $, check out ebay and preownedweddingdresses.com. This dress was just coming out when I was shopping, so fall 2006? There''ve got to be at least a few floating around out there for a steal. I remember seeing this dress in magazines when I was looking and thinking it was sooo beautiful. It really looks like it was made for you

first one, hands down. but the last one does come in a close second! they both look FAB on you!

If you really love the more expensive fabric you can always try bargaining with the SA, times are tough sales would be down and people have quotas :).

I would say something along the line of I really like this dress in x material however it is out of budget, if I were to buy the dress today what kind of price would you be able to give me?

In sales most of the time everything everywhere is negotiable :)

The first one looks amazing on you and you look SO happy in it. You have that bride glow that we all need to have in our dress! im so happy for you that you found a dress that fits you so perfectly! yay

Man, I might get stoned for this one but I really love the one with the blue sash if the sash was in another color. I feel like its so classic and well something I would pick for myself (so maybe I am biased

I personally love the second one the most on you. There is just enough detail to make the dress interesting without taking away from the elegance. I''m not saying that the first dress has too much detail but I just prefer the second.
The first dress does give you a tiny waist, it was the first thing I thought to myself when I looked at the close-up shot of the detail on the bodice.
Regardless of all I just said you DO look the happiest and most excited about dress #1. I would be saying this whether you had told us that was the front runner or not. It looks like you''ve found the one!

Would you mind sharing the names/style #s of the Maggie Sottero dresses? I am in the midst of trying to help my friend find a dress and that second one has all the elements she is looking for.

I''m going to go against the grain and say the one with the blue sash. The first one looks good, but it''s just a matter of personal preference. The blue sash one is very elegant and timeless...but I would try to get another color as well! You can''t go wrong with any of those!!!

I have been so busy lately that I seem to only stop by PS for a quick peek without ever posting. But your thread has just compelled me to post. You look 100% amazing in that first dress. There is, quite simply, no competition amongst the other dresses. Yes, there are certainly some gorgeous dresses there, but it''s not about a pretty dress, it''s about a pretty YOU. And that''s what dress number one does...makes a gorgeous you, instead of just a gorgeous dress. You shine through in that dress! It''s definitely your gown. And I think that the extra money for the fabric is worth it. As a photographer, I will say that the material really does matter for photos. That heavier matte fabric will photograph much nicer than a lighter shiny material, especially if flash is used.

Anyway, congrats on finiding such a perfect gown!

I LOVE dress number 1 on you. It matches you quite well and it''s such a pretty dress.
