Yeah. Plus, what would happen if you tried something on and really, really loved it? Unless you'd actually potentially buy a dress when going shopping with your girls, I'd say pass on dress shopping together and go shopping for accessories instead. Shoes, veils, tiaras, handbags? You can shop for those together instead, maybe, even if you don't plan on wearing/using them all.Date: 8/27/2009 10:06:59 AM

I vote no. I'd hate to waste anyone's time when I wasn't seriously shopping.
Ok, maybe think of it this way--how would they feel if they were having a hard time finding their wedding dress, it was getting to be crunch time for ordering, and they couldn't book appointments because the salons were full up--and then they found out some of those slots were being taken up by people who had no intention of buying but just thought it would be a hoot to try on some big dresses?Date: 8/27/2009 10:14:46 AM

The point, as I understand my friends, was to be silly. And all the other shopping stuff (well, undies) have been done with my FI as he has a very specific idea of how he wants me to look.![]()
Sigh. How do I let my friends down easy??? A group of them think it is a great idea and are all excited to do it.
I guess when you put it that way I have to agree with you, although I DID try on dresses that I had no intention of buyingDate: 8/27/2009 10:17:58 AM

It''s just not terribly considerate.
If your ultimate goal is to buy a dress, then it''s fine to try on whatever you want! Even ones you think you''d NEVER wear in a million years. If you are going in there JUST to play dress up... you''re wasting someone''s time.Date: 8/27/2009 11:16:49 AM

It''s just not terribly considerate.. In my defence, I had to do it so I knew for sure what styles I didn''t like. Am I bad![]()

I tried on dresses I wouldn''t buy in a million years to get an idea of what shapes and styles look good on me. There''s nothing wrong with that!![]()
Just because you (the general ''you'') book an appointment to try on dresses doesn''t mean you HAVE to buy one, but booking an appointment when there''s absolutely ZERO chance of you buying one is inconsiderate to those who have yet to buy their dresses and who may be under a time crunch (like, I found out that ordering my dress 7 MONTHS in advance is cutting it close, so to make sure I have it, I''m getting the sample). The sole exception to this would be if you know someone who owns a bridal shop, who would let you in after hours or something, where you wouldn''t be taking up slots meant for people who actually need to find their dresses.
