Here are two of my top choices for my wedding dress. There are a couple more that I like, but I unfortunately forgot my camera when I tried them on. Please tell me what you think of them. Keep in mind that I am very petite (5'' tall, < size 0), so the dresses are clipped and pinned onto me every which way.

Dress 1 is a sheath-style gown, heavily beaded, with chiffon at the bottom. It would be altered to be a little more fitted, and the top would be cut down, creating a lower, sweetheart neckline (I hate how high the current straight-across neckline comes up on me). About 6-7 inches would be removed from the length at the front, leaving the extra length at the back as a sweep train. The dress has two long chiffon scarves that can be tied a variety of ways; I am wearing them off-the-shoulder, and the model is wearing them as a halter.

Dress 2 is a "satin draped-bodice strapless gown, with beaded lace, molded empire, and bubble skirt hem." The bridal shop clipped it onto me in a way that created more of a mermaid-type silhouette than the photo I found of the dress online. They assured me that it could be altered to be more fitted, which is what I would prefer.

Without further ado: DRESS 1

Hmm...not sure why it''s not posting. Here''s a link for model pic of dress 2.

Dress #2 (and it's not even a close decision). Maybe it's the camera, but dress #1's fabric looks a little "dance hall madam"

The second dress flatters your petite shape, it's classic, and I love the bubble hem. In fact, I

everything about it on you.

I MUCH prefer Dress #2 - it suits your figure perfectly and the fabric looks much nicer than Dress #1. Yay!

I second this. It looks much better on you than the model, too.

I Loovve dress 2 on you! I ilke the sweetheart neckline and the overall shape of it - it''s very flattering on your body. #2 hands down!

Yes I agree #2 is the best on you. Looks fab on your body..BUT PLEASE tell me...who is the designer of the first one?

I really love dress 2!

It really shows off your great figure, and looks as if it was made for you. The fabric looks gorgeous as well.

I can''t believe I forgot to mention it! It is Destinations by Mon Cheri. I actually ended up liking a lot of destination-type gowns because they weren''t as voluminous and overwhelming on me.

Dress 2 is from the WTOO line of Watters & Watters.

Thanks to purrfectpear, Krissie, bettina, Sha, lauralu and WishfulThinking for your input so far.

Purrfectpear, I think the camera doesn''t quite pick up how pretty the beading is on Dress 1, but I can definitely see it bordering on too much sparkle. I also realize that I need to be aware of how the dress will look in photos--I definitely want to look more "bride" than "dance hall madam" in my wedding pictures =).

Love, love, love #2

I ADORE Dress #2 on you. The bubble hem is really nice and it already has a sweetheart neckline that you mentioned you wanted put into the first dress. That means less alteration cost down the line. I also have to say that the first thought through my mind when I clicked on the link for the model shot of Dress #2 was "Wow, she rocks that dress much better than the model!" I also really love the back of Dress #2. Its a very appropriate level of wedding sexy.

Dress 2! I like the shape and fabric on it, and you look beautiful!

Dress #2 is my preferance. Lovely, and makes you look younger! Very figure flattering as well...

I had to giggle when I read your post. Because of my petite size and my baby face (which I know you can't see in the photos), I am constantly told I look much, much younger than I am. When I was shopping for a dress for my recent graduation, a saleslady asked which high school I was graduating from. I kindly informed her that I was graduating from law school. As I've been dress shopping, several people have commented that I look "too young to be getting married!" I am 24 now--will be 25 on my wedding day--so on the young side, but definitely not too young by any standards.

Thanks for the kind words. The input is much appreciated.

Thank you! I am very flattered. I am definitely going for an appropriate wedding-sexy look. I want just the right balance between "make-FI''s-eyes-pop-out" and "appropriately-virginal-for-grandma."

Thanks so much to claudinam, Claritek, Kim N and rockzilla for your positive comments. It looks like Dress 2 is the clear favorite!

Question for everyone: what don''t you like about Dress 1? I''m just trying to zero in on what the issues with it might be so I can be aware of potential issues with future dresses I try.

Definitely #2!

Another vote for number 2..number 1 hides your figure..and number 2 emphasizes it and elongates you!

Hooray for elongation! That is definitely what I need. Btw, SarahLovesJS, we are wedding date twins!

Thanks also to jcrow, claudinam, blondebunny, and Sabine for your input.

Hello!

Sorry to thread-jack, but how is all the planning going? I see that you''re picking out a dress!

Number 2 hands down, looks great on you. It''s very flattering on you. It would make your FI''s eyes pop. Grandma, um I don''t know, but it looks beautiful on you. Number 1 does look a little too shimmery, but it looks as if it wears you down.
I definitely think #2, with the way it''s somewhat mermaid style, looks so much better on you than on the model.
