For years, I've dreamt of having a 2ct gog avc in a vc emilya setting, only to find out in the forum that he will no longer accept their diamond now that my time is finally coming. I dont know what I should do as I don't have a lot of knowledge with caneras cushions. With a 25k-30k budget would you choose a vc cushion with his setting, or an avc cushion with a setting from somewhere else. Also, do you have any picks in the 2ct to 2.5 ct range, g-i color, vs1-si1 none-faint fluo range.

I looooove vc antique cushions. I'd pick one of those in a heartbeat.

However, I do believe your specs +high end setting will be out of your budget if you went with a branded stone.

the canera antique cushions look lovely. however there are none in the size and color you want on his website.
you can try emailing victor and tell him your budget and requirements and see what he can do for u.

this is the only AVC in your budget

you can email gog and ask if they can source anything closer to the 2carat range that's cheaper.
then you can go with another vendor for creating the emilya look.

i think a lot of the PS approved vendors have created amazing halos that are similar to the emilya. if it's the look you like then you can easily recreate it, but if it's the VC brand you're looking for then you're only option is to go with a canera antique cushion.

gl!

I had my AVC set by Steven Kirsch.

I was just going to mention m-2-b's gorgeous ring & Steven Kirsch. You could also go with BE, they have antique cushions & make beautiful settings. I too love AVC's but think that you'll have to decide what your top priority is, setting or diamond brand. VC does have top cushions so that would be a very viable option.

Me, if I really loved both the GOG AVC and the VC Emily equally, I'd probably first contact VC with my budget and diamond specs and see what he can come up with... also, if you buy your center stone from him, you'll get a 10% discount on the Emilya setting.

If VC doesn't have a antique-style cushion that pleases you, then I'd check with Mark at Brilliantly Engaged to see if one of his Royal Chandelier cushions might strike your fancy - if so, you could still go with VC's Emilya.

If that didn't work, then I'd check the GOG cushions and likely have Steven Kirsch or Brilliantly Engaged do the halo setting.

Of course, if you search your heart and discover your love for the GOG AVC edges out your desire for the VC Emilya, then I'd first email GOG with your specs and ask for their best recommendations for you. If you find "your" stone, then email SK and BE for price quotes for an Emilya-inspired halo setting.

Steven Kirsch

I'd go with Victor, and email him to ask about availability of a stone that meets your criteria. I love his setting so much, I would be willing to wait for something. That's me. :)

Oh, I thought your budget was for both. And for some reason I missed that you could go down to an I lol

I'm cheap, I'd look into that non AVC antique cushion from gog. It would keep you in budget. I'd ask for a comparison vid and see if its really that different

Victor's stones are just as nice. I agree email him and ask if he can cut something for you, if not then Steven Kirsch will set a AVC in that style of halo.

This stone with a discount on the setting might come in around your budget and is currently one of the better options I can see from both Victor and GOG;

Or do you prefer stones that are longer and more rectangular looking? The E SI I you have picked at Victor's will give you a really nice spread up and down ways, and give you an ice white stone!!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing Victor's cushions and they are beautiful. I think you should try to see them before dismissing them as an option. However, if you are sure about an AVC .. you can't go wrong with SK either. You aren't out of options!

Hi Charmy, you own an AVC? How do you think they both compare visually Victor's Antique Cushions versus GOG's AVCs?

I haven't seen GOG's new AVCs and I didn't have my AVC with me that day ... couldn't do a side by side comparison in the lighting setting. With that said, I have seen another one of VC's cushions in NYC and had my AVC there. I find that VC's cushions throw off a lot of pastels and look more feminine if that makes sense. I was more focused on VC's OECs which I liked a lot - the petals looked natural

+1. Victor has made 2 settings for me and the dimensions and crafmanship are top notch. Victor is currently making a third ring for me. Definitely worth the wait. His antique cushions look amazing but I have never seen these in real life. I would contact him to see what he can do for you. If this route does not work out, you could have an AVC set by Brilliantly Engaged or Steven Kirsch. I have a ring by BE as well and they create gorgeous work.
