Down with the flu - need to rant

rubyshoes!! are you on the mend yet??

I am a wee bit better, Enerchi I actually got out of bed and walked my doggy! She is a very active sheltie mix and we love to go for loooong walks but this past week I haven't walked her at all... just let her out into the yard to do her business. And she has been so good and patient... hasn't pestered me to take her out at all. So today I actually walked her on our nature trail (40 minute walk). I was wheezing by the time I got home but she was so, so happy. She was playing in the snowdrifts. My strength is coming back a bit although I still have zero appetite. I think I should be fine in 3-4 days. The only thing is, I am coughing a lot and when I cough, my entire rib cage HURTS real bad. Tonight I am going to buy Lysol wipes to start cleaning the house.

Have you been to a clinic to get the flu test to rule it out, just in case?

So many of my co-workers got the flu shot and still came down with the flu. The plus side was that they got over the flu in a shorter period of time. I hope you feel better soon!

IMO,a flu shot is bunch of BS.the only guarantee is that you'll catch the flu... i have never gotten a flu shot in my life and i haven't caught the flu in 25 yrs...

DF - I never get the flu shot either. I'm not sure I trust what is in it. FWIW, I'm sick right now, but this is the first time in years! Seems there is something new out there (or from what I've read, that is the case) and the shot may not have helped.

Either way, I am still eating so I'm not THAT sick. Just sneezing and coughing. I found lots of caffeine has kept my sinus from feeling achey.

I get the flu shot once in a while but not every year. I don't tend to get the flu so I usually don't bother with the shot. I should get it because I work in a very germy place but I'll take my chances.

Yes indeed, wipe down everything you can imagine - all surfaces. Its surprising how many things we touch all day long but don't realize. I was coming into my building from lunch, behind a man that was coughing and wheezing in front of us as we headed to the door. One large cough - into his hands - then he spit on the side walk ( ) and with his bare hands... opens the door!!! EEEWWWW!!!

so yes, get those little wipes out and wipe away!

I've been so sick all week and ended up going to the grocery store yesterday and felt really guilty being out and about when I was sneezing non stop, but we were running out of food supplies and had no choice. Kept using hand sanitizer, but still...
