Hello, having difficulty deciding between two engagement rings:
1 - Has anyone here heard of the designer la4ve before? There is a ring by them at Joseph Jewelry here in Seattle that I am interested in, but have had difficulty finding anything about the designer on the web. It seems there are some stores that carry them, but their website is defunct. The setting as it is now is $3,833, with 18k white gold, 0.21 tct rounds and 0.56 tct baguettes. Because of the diamond, he suggested doing slightly bigger baguettes (up to 0.64 total ct weight) and putting it in Palladium. Since they have a 20% off sale this month, he said they could do their interpretation of the ring using the bigger baguettes, in Palladium, and waive their setting fee (~$250 since I am using my own diamond). It''s a beautiful setting (pic shown if it worked), but its almost twice as expensive as option number two, which is...
2 - Simon G twist ring (http://www.simongjewelry.com/details.php?products_id=1458&categories_id=23&), which in Palladium is around 2000 at EE Robbins, plus their $171 setting fee.
I''m really torn... does anyone have any thoughts? Anyone have experiences with either Joseph Jewelry or EE Robbins? Does either seem like an appropriate or inflated price? Since I like both, buying the Simon G one just because it''s cheaper just seems, well, cheap, and buying the la4ve lookalike one just because its more expensive seems, well, wasteful. Girlfriend loves both, so I guess I don''t have to worry about that, but it''s hard to decide myself (I''m picking the diamond + the setting from 10 of her favorites to keep things a surprise). I wonder if the craftsmanship might be better at Joseph since they are making it from scratch, versus EE who will be ordering it from Simon G, but I don''t know. I know I can''t go wrong with either, but at this point I feel like whichever one of the two I choose I''ll still wonder if I should chosen the other... help!
