Hi everyone! Lurked around on the forums a bit but this is my first post.

I'm currently looking for an oval diamond and I narrowed it down to 2. On paper, they are very very similar and I just have one picture of each of them. Opinions on which one you prefer and any information as to why would be greatly appreciated.

One thing to note about oval#2. There is a note on the report for tinge being TTLB. I'm not certain that it's noticeable in the picture or at all. I wasn't sure if I should include that tidbit in the descriptions as I wasn't sure if it would sway your opinions too much but it's there. Thanks again!

Paper counts for nothing with ovals.

First one has a bowtie that will blend, but I don't care for the facets as I see mush.

The other one has a strong small bowtie, but the rest of the facets are very nice.

Can they give you an ASET each?

Unfortunately, no ASET. I agree that the bowtie on the second one does look smaller but much more prominent. I wasn't sure if the bowtie not being very evident on the first one was due to the angle the picture was taken or was just an unclear picture overall. At the moment, I'm ever so slightly leaning toward #2. Thanks for your input!

#1 looks much better if the pictures were taken under the exact same conditions.

I can't tell if it's just a bad photo but the diamond in photo#1 looks kind of soft with #2 looking much sharper. Also, the backdrop which I assume is supposed to be black is slightly lighter in the picture for #1 so I feel like the picture for that one may have been very slightly brighter than #2. Is there anything specific about the first one that appeals to you more, JulieN?

If it is from the same vendor, you need to ask them to shoot the pictures again, under the SAME conditions. The background on the first picture has these weird white streaks.

I do not like the dark area under the table in the upper hemisphere of #2. #1 looks like it is quite good for an oval.

Here's another picture that was provided of #2 with a grey backdrop but it looks almost the same as the first picture http://i.imgur.com/jYM1S3I.jpg. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get another picture of #1. I guess one of the main things that drew me toward #2 was that it was graded as color G, although from these pictures, it's difficult to tell the difference (if any) between the two. Thanks for your input JulieN. I keep going back and forth and it's giving me some more things to think about.

Interesting.
