In another topic you guys gave me some suggestions in terms of how to go about finding a diamond and picking an online vendor. I have been working with a lady from I.D.Jewelry and I am down to the following 2 diamonds that would pair with the following setting https://eshop.gabrielny.com/product/ER7543W44JJ..

Option 1: http://www.idjewelry.com/round-aish14920.html - a hearts and arrows cut diamond 0.9ct F/SI1/HCA=0.7 (X/X/VG) - asking price $4,545

Option 2: http://www.idjewelry.com/round-afq389-8.html - 0.8/D/SI2/HCA=1.4 (X/VG/X) - asking price $3,758

I was told that they are both eye clean. Gabriel also makes a slightly smaller setting for the 0.8ct. I've seen then both side by side, same ring.

So I guess it comes down to:
1. Is option 1 worth the price difference over option 2 or should I go for 2?
2. Should I keep looking?
3. Is this a fair price or does ID Jewelry have any room to work with the client?
4. Is this a truly trustworthy store?

It is difficult to make a purchase online. Please give me some advice as I would like to reach a decision very soon. Thank you!

They have the same picture for both diamonds on the site. I consider that very deceptive not to have the words "sample image" under that picture.

Do you have actual magnified images of the stones? I would not consider buying a diamond blind. Please post them and ask for idealscope images as well.

I would eliminate the SI2. I would rather have a G-H VS2 over a D SI2.

This is all I was given today (left image) but I will ask for the idealscope images.

The GIA report shows 3 inclusions to the side. In their defense, when you do a search on their site, they mark the diamonds that have actual images, and this one was not marked as such.

Ok, also ask if they can take this same image head on. At this angle we really can't see the facet pattern or inclusions.

I was just emailed this. Also, I was told that the price shown is the best they can do.

So, any feedback? Should I pull the trigger?

I think the F stone looks really nice! I think it is definitely worth a few hundred more since it is larger and higher clarity.

But I am checking prices on similar stones. Be back soon.

I think the price is okay. The well cut ones that cost less than that are not showing photos, so it is impossible to compare them. There are plenty in that price range, too.
