For those who own and are happy with your down comforters from the Company Store, I was wondering which comforter you have.
I ordered the Alberta Supersize, queen, in medium warmth. It''s 300 thread count, and 600-650 fill power, 33oz. down, with baffle box construciton back in August ''07. It has been quite the ordeal!!
I covered it with the duvet cover from the Company Store - the 300 thread count, supima sateen in chocolate color. After a few weeks, I noticed the tiny down fibers coming out ALL OVER the place! It was like a nightmare. Instead of dust bunnies, I had down bunnies all over the floor. I had down in my hair. I had down all over my clothes. I would cough from choking on down in the air whenever I got into bed. Down in my eyelashes. Eeeek!
So I sent it back. Asked for another one, of the same thing. This was in November. AAAAH...nightmare all over again. Feathers everywhere! I took pictures of the brown duvet cover showing the "attack of the down" to send to them, haha...but they said that was not necessary. However, they did say that they''ve never heard of this happening with that particular comforter. So I thought, "do we sleep funny? Is that why our feathers come out, but NO ONE ELSE in the world has that problem?"
We sent it back again, and exchanged it for the White Bay...no baffle box construction this time...everything else is the same. Crossing my fingers that this one works out (just got it today), but also wondering what others'' experiences are with the company. I must add though, that their customer service is wonderful. I had a 20% discount the first time I ordered, and they applied it everytime I asked for a replacement. I also have not had to pay for shipping to send the bad ones back, nor for the replacements.
