Have you guys heard of/seen this? I had actually seen it before when I visited them a couple months back but was reminded when I went to visit them today. It''s the owners'' cut (assuming I''m remembering this info correctly, I was actually told this the last time I was there). There are a crazy amount of facets and it really sparkles but strangely I thought it cheapened the look of the diamond. It made it look like a piece of crystal, or maybe that was the lighting. The woman was trying to talk me out of my decision to get an H&A, saying it was simply a name brand ideal cut, nothing really special about it...i.e. not as extraordinary as their double brillant cut.

It''s really a nice store but reminds you of how overpriced B&Ms are. I went because a co-worker got her antique EG from there (with an old european cut) and I realized I had only seen that cut once (on her ring). After admiring the many I see here I wanted to check them out. They are having an antique show the first week of December if anyone is interested.

Also it''s probably the closest place to me to find things like Daniel K and Michael B. Yummy!

Do you know how many hours I spent drooling over stuff in that shop before I found PS? That''s where I saw my first baguette halo... and fell in love. PS is where I discovered that while I love the look, I prefer it for colored stones. It is a nice shop for browsing, and yeah... the prices are high but they are great for getting an idea of what you like and what high quality stuff looks like in person. I have never seen their ''''propietary cut" but generally don''t care for the look of extra or super facetted rounds and feel that most of the time it''s just re-inventing the wheel. *shrug*

The antiques show sounds like a blast. Wish I could be there in the 1st week of December... if you go please taka a camera and post pics!!!

It''s funny because I asked the saleswoman if they did custom work, because I was thinking of a more antique wedding band, and she didn''t exactly answer. But mentioned the antique looking (but actually new) bands they had. So we proceeded to look at the new stuff and I walked away thinking they didn''t do custom. I just checked the site and they have a area dedicated to custom!

But yeah, the antique show, do you think they would let me bring a camera!??!

Twice as many facets work well on diamonds twice as big.
57 works well on a 1ct round.

Twice as many facets work well on an 8ct, which is about twice the size of a 1ct round.
Othewise the stone looks blah
