Don''t post any pics till they all are ready

If you post pics you get responses, sometimes lots of them.

Then if you post more pics a day or days later those who already responded may not open the tread again.
They have no way of knowing you posted more pics.

Just what I wrote.
If you want everyone to see all your pics, post them all at the beginning of your thread.

Some people will view a thread only once.
Nobody's psychic; They have no way of knowing you posted more pics.

Sure some other people will open it again, scroll up or page back and find where they left off, but many will not.

That's all.

I think some people just want to get a few pics up, to satisfy the natives here. And I think we love those first few pics!!! I always go back to threads to see the newer pics.

Well, once you post in a thread the thread gets bumped back up to the top. I can''t speak for all but I think most will notice if a thread they participated in was bumped back up and so they open it.

If this is not so important to you, don't worry about it.
Personally, I'm a neurotic artist who obsesses endlessly about my work and for some inexplicable reason these diamond pics have become my current project.
I doubt many here are as neurotic about all this as I am.

One of the reasons is that people keep asking for more pics. I will not expect someone to post 20 pics in a row without getting any feedback.

Probably because they (and I) don''t agree with what you''re saying.

It shouldn''t bother you how other people handle their threads .. sometimes there''s actually reasons why pictures are posted later.

I am sure you started this Thread to be helpful but you come across as being preachy. I don't know how else to say it.

You can't tell other's how to do their threads.

If you had said, hey I learned something. I started my thread, but didn't have all the pics. I think next time I start a thread, I'll do so with all my pics loaded.... See my point???

That comes across way better, JMHO. I am not telling you how to say things.. Just now you are wondering why you are getting flack, so am trying to help you understand what the collective WE are thinking..

Let me try to explain

Some times people start a tread with a couple of pics, people start answering saying, more pictures please, some hand shots, can i see a profile picture, etc etc. So you end up posting pics days later. I hope I explain better this time

For the same reason people can't just stop trying to "fix" stuff that ain't broken.

ETA: Not everything needs to be MAXIMIZED. Most viewers, most comments, most admiration POSSIBLE! Some folks (most folks?) are perfectly happy with the piece meal random drive by viewings in the same old messy, unorganized way thread usually develop over time. Perhaps ULTIMATE maximization is leaving people wanting *more* hmmmmmm?

Alternatively, if you want more feedback, you could start a thread in Hangout saying you posted more pics.... Just kidding Kenny! I see you posted more beautiful pics of the Octavia and Asscher. You are right, I usually only check the start of a long thread to see the initial pics. Part of that is because I try to limit my time in SMTR, for my own sanity and the sake of my finances.

If I take exceptional interest in a thread in which pics have been posted, I use the subscribe function so I am notified by email when there are more responses to the thread.

While comments about my pictures are always nice, it doesn''t really matter to me whether someone looks at my thread once, twice, eight times, or never. If someone specifically asks for more pictures, and I post them, and they never look at the thread again, I feel like it''s their loss--definitely not mine!

If this really bugs you, Kenny, just post all of your pics at the beginning of your thread. Or start multiple threads. Or start a new thread directing others to your old thread. (But honestly, don''t let it bug you too much.)

What I would do if I were you is - instead of making THIS thread - make a thread here in hangout that tells everyone you posted more pictures in your diamond thread with a linky!

Nothing wrong with a little (straight forward) self promotion if you aren''t getting the traffic you seek. Be direct!

aw kenny - I am happy to indulge I was neurotic in my own special cehriffic way when I was having my ring made and I am not here to judge - just to enjoy - and your rings, your pictures, your humor - I enjoy them So bring it!
