Doesn't it make you wonder???

Love it! I wish I had that kind of "play money"!

I do know that whoever owned that ring had a sense of humor!

I totally agree VR! If I had tons of extra $$ and had already donated oodles to charity, it would be fun to have a couple of totally wacko pieces to generate conversation!

Whenever I see vintage pieces like this one, I wonder what the person was like. Did they buy the item for themself or did someone buy it for them? If so, what was their reaction? Or, did they not like it at all and it's been passed from hand to hand ever since???

do you think it can be sized to a 5? :-P

Most definitely!

Hi,

Critter jewelry is in demand at this time. HSN is showing rings, as in above example, with semi precious stones. The was an octopus, whale and a fish just last nite on TV. Martha Stewart showed her panther braclet , a very expensive piece, on her TV show.
In fact I want a critter pendant /brooch, and have been trying to come up with a critter where I could up some of my stones.
I like critter pins. This one is extra large, but interesting.

Annette

I love it!

Although I think it's overpriced and I'm not convinced it is a true antique.

My mother wears a lot of brooches like this. I think brooches are more wearable than a ring.

I'll never forget a tradefair I was at where one of the buyers had an amazing diamond bee brooch that she wore on the cuff of her jacket. It was so beautiful and such an unusal but great place to wear it - I've wanted one ever since.

Awww I love frogs!

I wish I went places other than the grocery store and Menards. I'd love to have a big collection of brooches to wear.

Cute/pretty ones tho.

Whenever I see critter rings like that the only place I can think of to wear them is my daughter's elementary school.
The kids would get such a kick out of them. Unfortunatly at $3k-ish a pop I wont be wearing one any time soon!

Ha ha ha that's a hoooooot! This should be in a thread I started a while ago on things you like that run completely counter to your normal taste. Having said that, this would always be fab because its so funny and there's nothing like a good sense of humour.

Thanks for sharing, it's brought a huge smile to my face, ta :appl:

Reminds me of the Pawn Stars (yes, shoot me) episode with this woman once walked in with a Spider brooch that she wanted 2K for... Rick told her that he could give her 2k, but he would feel bad about it. So he offered her 15K. It was a Faberge brooch apparently... I'm still not sure if that was a fake or not.
