SanDiegLady and Logan Sapphire, How did your jewelers fit all that inside your rings? The letters in my inscription are touching each other in order to fit inside the shank. But it''s still read-able. I can''t even figure out how the poem fit. And really, after counting out the 22 letters plus 6 spaces in ''I will love you and honor you'' - how did they get that in? My inscription, YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE, has 16 letters and 3 spaces.
Hubby''s ring is 8 or so mm wide, there was just enough space in block letters. Not very flowery, but it works!
8mm - that explains it!

Logan Sapphire, abbreviation, I shoulda thunk it.

Addy - thank you for the compliment on my new setting.

I am so glad I was able to find it (to point dh towards, lol).

My DH''s wedding band is an antique 14K white gold one, probably around 100 years old, we got it from a local antique jewelry store. It is a flat band with very very fine crosshatching engraved on the surface- it''s nearly worn off though. Inside, it was engraved by the original owner "wed-lok" in a flowing cursive script. I''ve always wondered why they used that spelling, what it meant to the original owner.

We''ve thought of getting our rings engraved, but never bothered. I love some of the ones you all have done though! How romantic.

My wband has DH''s name on it, and his band is engraved with my name. Both rings have our wedding date inside too. Since they are hand engraved, not machine something longer than that would''ve been too hard to fit inside with the font we wanted. So we decided if we had to choose only one word it would be each other''s names.

The inside of my wedding band reads: our initials, wedding date, and Psalm 34:3. Just the reference. The whole verse reads, "O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together." I wanted that because I would love to be in a minstry with my husband someday.

I decided I wanted that verse inside my wedding band at age 15, after reading Elisabeth Elliot''s book, Through Gates of Splendor
http://www.amazon.com/Through-Gates-Splendor-Elisabeth-Elliot/dp/0842371524 It''s about her husband and her as missionaries to the Auca Indians in South America. Amazing true story. Psalm 34:3 was what they had in their rings. I wanted that too, so much so that I wrote my plan inside the book cover.

But I forgot about it when we were getting married.

I was just too busy, I guess, so we just had initials and date put in, as the jeweler suggested.

Years later, I decided to have my 4mm milgrain wedding band recast into a plain, heavy 2.5mm comfort fit, to match my diamond ring. (Didn''t have $$ for an e-ring til our 16th anniv. That was my 1st diamond, .33ct. 2nd diamond is the .88ct) At some point around this time, my mom happened across that book (after 3 moves she still had it!), read my words, and told me about it. So I had the jeweler inscribe the verse, after the original idea. I just love that! Because it''s my heart''s desire. And now, after all these years, it''s finally done.

I want my grandchildren to wonder at it. And be inspired by it.

My band will have our names inscribed on the inside. I wanted our names and the date but the ring was too small. When we eventually order FI''s ring, his will have our names and the date. It'' not the most creative but there''s something I love about seeing our names next to each other!

I don''t have anything in mine because it''s totally pave, but I wrote ''DO NOT REMOVE'' in my DH''s wedding ring.

Probably wasn''t what you were looking for, but we are more the humorous type.

I would be really interested checking out that book! It sounds like a fun read.

LMAO! Haha Neatfreak! I think you and I are similar - not only do I want the same ring as you but I want to write "Put It Back On" in my SO''s ring!!!

This is a great thread! LOVE IT.

My two "alternate" wedding rings that I now wear stacked as RHRs, say my, and my husband''s names along with different dates. One has the date we "officially" started dating and the other had the date we got married.

In case you can''t read them clearly this is what they say:

Brian & Alanna - 02/14/05
Brian & Alanna - 09/19/04
