Our cats do. One by our legs, one in between us by our heads.

Does Trooper sleep in bed with me? Hmmph, I think I sleep in bed with HIM.

I''ve never not had my dog sleep in my bed from the time I was a little girl. Of course, on the other hand, I''ve never had a dog that weighed more than 10 lbs. either

I do not allow my dog in my bed (SO does not have a dog). She has a crate to sleep in at night, or one of several pet beds. She had a memory foam mattress until she shredded it.

However, SO loves to let the dog on the bed. (dog = 67.5lbs!) He thinks it's nice to 'have the family together', and even i admit that she is happier there. He let's her sleep with us too, when I let him. He thinks it is cute and sweet (it kind of is), but she sleep right in the middle of us and spread out, hogging everything from space to blankets. It's really ridiculous. We are doing LDR, so I am not too keen on giving up snuggle time or privileges!

I am still anti pets on beds, but one day when I was missing SO a whole lot and I hadn't seen him in 5+ weeks, I let her sleep with me.

oh, but the dog is only allowed on the bed when invited, and I DO insist that SO abides by that rule. so it's funny to watch her staring at us and begging to be invited! SO insists that we will need a King size bed when we get married, to accomodate the dog...

Our dog used to sleep with us pretty much every night. But she takes up WAY too much space for someone who weighs 20 pounds. I need to be able to stretch and move when I am sleeping!

Future pets will absolutely NOT be allowed on the bed. However, it would be difficult to break her habit at this point. One trick I did cook up was to fill her sleeping space in the living room with blankets that smell like us, so now she only sleeps with us once a week or so.

I answered the more the merrier, and two of my three dogs do. I do think I would sleep better if they didn;t, but I still enjoy the company.

Since DH and I are an old married couple, we are now in two different beds for the time being. I''m in the back bedroom with my CPAP machine and Coco, our shelter cat, is there with me. She''s my shadow....she follows me around the house. I have a little bed with a blanket in it for her and she sleeps there at the head of the bed. We end up looking at each other during the night, or day, when we are sleeping. She''s my little angel.

DH is in the middle bedroom, since he snores so loud, and he keeps different hours than I do. Coco will come and sleep on the corner of the bed with him, on occasion, but prefers my bed when DH tosses and turns too much.

Our two mini dachshunds, Bonnie and Clyde, sleep in the kitchen. They are 10 years old and we''ve always kept their doggie beds in the corner of the kitchen along with their food and water bowls. We''ve tried the sleeping in the bed thing, but they are way too rowdy for the bed. DH will put them in the bed with him, but it never lasts more than a few minutes. Clyde is a licker and Bonnie is too hyper. Clyde will lick you and then lick the sheets...weird!

"Only the special one." LOL. Only the chihuahua because she''s small and squishy.

No - hubby is allergic to our pets. He takes 2 allergy medicines, and the doctor told him absolutely no pets are allowed in the bedroom. Poor guy - we have 3 cats and a new sweet little rescue puppy.

DH and I sleep in bed with Mazie
9.gif

She is always right between us, or asleep on top of my second pillow.

If DH is facing Mazie and I and he is snoring, Mazie will woof at him, until he turns over. She does not like snoring in her face. LOL. She is hilarious.

Cat is allowed on the foot of the bed, dog sleeps in his crate. He has a penchant for wanting to play at 2:00 in the morning if not crated.

Until my parents had to put down their cocker, when I was visiting (or living there) she slept with me. It was great in the cold weather, she slept right up against my back and kept me warm.
1.gif

Now, with two of them...Edgar, at 70 lbs and very hairy (see avatar), sometimes will start on the bed snuggling (he, too, warms my spot snuggling with DH until I get in the bed in winter--a warm, toasty bed is the best!) but once we turn out the light gets off of his own accord. He just gets too warm--he shakes the whole bed with his panting. Our baby, Boomer, is still sleeping in his crate. In the morning sometimes they both are on the bed to snuggle--until they begin to try to play and we kick them off. Boomer still has a hard time laying still to snuggle. And he likes to give lots of kisses--which is more then we can handle some mornings. He can''t jump up yet, so stands on his hind legs, begging to be lifted up.

Nope. Not allowed in the bedroom while we''re sleeping. SO keeps his suits in the bedroom closet and he doesn''t enjoy using a sticky-roller everyday before work to get rid of the fuzz.

However, this does not keep the cats from banging on the door ALL NIGHT LONG!

Our dog has his own bed in our room. He sleeps there.

Yep.. at least one, sometimes two cats... who don''t get on very well! Quite often there is a fight on the bed in the middle of the night.

It''s fine when my (little) cat sleeps between us, usually snuggled up to one of us, and DH''s cat at the foot of the bed between our feet, but lately my cat has taken to sleeping ON my feet which is not so comfortable, and far too close for comfort to DH''s cat.

We''ve talked about buying a king sized bed so there would be more room, but I am sure they would still want to be right up next to us no matter how much space was available.

And of course they like to drink out of our water glasses, so I sometimes wake up to a furry butt right in my face while the owner is going ''lap, lap, lap'' at my water!

Our whole crew sleeps in the bed with us--one dog and three kitties. The pup sleeps between us under the covers with her head on a pillow, and the kitties sleep wherever they want. In the winter months the cats all slept against the pup, we think she kept them warm.

Our two dogs are not allowed in the bedroom when we are sleeping. They are allowed to play in the bedroom and under the bed during the day. I have allergies and asthma and we figured it would be better not to sleep with the dog hair and dander. I am always tempted to allow them to sleep with us though. I am most tempted when DH is out of town.

In my next lifetime I want to be a dog in your house. After seeing the pics I decided that is what I want to do...

Our dogs sleep on the floor in our bedroom . . . they are NOT allowed in our bed. Actually, I don''t think they could get into our bed even if they were allowed, because our bed is very high and I don''t think either of them could jump that high.

Back when we had a kitty, he slept in bed with us. I miss him!

Our room is off limits during during sleepy times. My dog is little and gets crated at night and the kitties get the run of the house. Our big kittie, Maxine, throws herself at the door at night.

i think that would be a sensible choice for any of us! they have the most amazing lives made up of eating, sleeping, playing, cuddling, treats, loooong walks, grooming, shows, friends and being adored. they have special food, special treats, special friends, special places - special everything! but they are lovely animals - beautifully natured and so loving. so it''s worth it. :)

lucky beasties!

Casper has always slept next to me. It's been the perfect fit from day one. He has to scooch up mext to me. His back is has to be next to me, head down towards my feet. Often I use his back as an arm rest while watching TV. He has to be so close ot me.. He can't be on the bed and not be touching me in some way... It's just been that way from day one.
Hubby is happy to share the bed, he adores Casper. Callie?? She's a trip. She will start off in her own spot.. Then move closer and closer in the AM. Then she will swat me with her paw. Saying wake up!!! I look at her and growl NO>>> And will turn away from her. She then will climb up on my pillows... Being quiet for an hour. Then willl start with the paw again, and lick me to death... Nice way to wake up. BUT THIS IS EVERY DAY!!!

Yes They have doggie beds. That gives me a few more hours of sleep. But once she is awake, she is bouncing by the side of the bed, crying and crying... She's a love bug. but is a PITA. Casper even looks at her and is like what the heck is your problem?? Like CHILL

Callie is a diiva. If need be? She'd throw Casper under the bus... Not a great feature.. But the two are not in love. and are not in like. LOL!!!

ETA: They do love each other... they just wouldn't admit it... l

whitby"

Well said Whitby: absolutely correct. We must enjoy them as unfortunately their lifespan is so short.
Enjoy!!!

Gosh, no! lol He''s a huge East-European Shepherd and is so clumsy in his affection displays that he can easily squash you or smother you while trying to get a hug. He did try to sneak up in my bed a few times when he was younger but I was uncompromising. He reconsiled for just waking me up by licking my toes each morning.

And you are half awake in the middle of the night and you snuggle in and give your DCF (dearest canine friend) a loving kiss and cuddle on the top of his/her head and you suddenly realize OOOOOOH! ,wrong end!

I''m loving the cute photos. More please

I spoon my little guy. My FI likes to make fun of me, but he doesn''t realize that when he thinks I am sleeping I hear him go "come here poopster (our weird nickname for the dog), don''t you want to snuggle with your daddy?" The way I look at it is that the bed actually belongs to Darth since he spends most of the day camped out there. I will say for an 8 lbs dog he takes up a LOT of room- he loves to stretch out and kick me.

I used to be opposed to dogs in the bed (for behavioral reasons) but I am a total sucker for my Chihuahua, and he won that battle. He sleeps with DH and I, usually in the crooks of knees or snuggled between us. He thinks he gets extra points if he can find a place to lay across us both.

DH has a greyhound and she likes to get in the bed too. When he was single, she just took the other side. Now, she starts out at the foot of the bed, and then will sleep in her bed on the floor the rest of the night.

It definitely gets crowded! Thankfully I am a really sound sleeper, and I have never felt like I was losing sleep from them being in the bed. If I did, it would break my heart! I love getting snuggles from my little guy!

I will say that ever since I let him in the bed, he has gotten a little more "entitled" in attitude, but oh well.

I thought about this thread last night. Ezra likes to cuddle in the crook of my legs or right up against my stomach, and I woke up with him snuggled up under my arm this morning (the cat loves to be snuggled like a teddy bear at night). Lola was at the foot of the bed all night.

I love waking up with my kitties.

Also, BF called me the other night after I''d spent a few nights in a row at his house. Bodhi hopped on the bed and was looking for me. He snuggled up to BF''s feet, stared at my spot on the bed and pouted. Apparently he likes being the middle spoon, lol.
