Does wband width match ering?

I''m getting a custom pave ring made that tapers inward toward the centerstone. I was told the shank would taper from 1.8mm to ~3mm in the back. So would you suggest I get a band that is 1.8mm, 3mm, or something in between? Since it is being custom made, I won''t be able to try it on beforehand. And I really would like the band to be made together with the ering so it''ll match. Any advice?

since you''re going custom, i''d really recommend waiting until you get the e-ring so you can try on rings with the different widths to see which you are going to prefer. as long as the same person is making it I wouldn''t worry about them *matching* since they aren''t going to be a matching set to begin width.
