Hello PS,

ive was shopping for a diamond towards the end of last year, found what i wanted, then i changed my mind. i havent looked for diamonds since. up till now.

can anyone tell me if the prices have gone up since around Xmas time (for fine stones, around the 1crt+ d vvs h&a)? and roughly how much by?

comparable stones from the same vendor are 25% more than 3 months ago! is this right?

i trust this vendor (online, well known), but im finding it hard to find good comparible evidence of the increase. or any evidence at all of such a big jump in price.

yes, they have jumped.
or too put it correctly the dollar has bombed, prepare for sticker shock when you price settings.

yes the dollar has taken a beating. im sure that infaltion has something to do with it...but from 16k to 20k? 4k in 3 months? im surprised, that all. and i cant find much evidence supporting such a rise....1.5 - 5% yes, but not any where near 25%. im not saying its not true, i kind of think it might be, but im looking for proof/confirmation.
