Does this price quote seem reasonable for my custom platinum setting?

I got a quote for an engagement ring setting PLUS a wedding band setting similar to the styles shown below. There are approx 36 melee stones in the Ering and about 11 stones in the wedding band. Both in platinum.

Quote was $3518 for both. Breaking it down I think it splits to $2300 for the Ering and 1,218 for the wedding band.

Does this seem reasonable to you? I know there are many details that factor into a specific cost, but mostly I'm wondering about the wedding band and if it's generally reasonable. I don't want to go ahead w/ it and then have someone say "oh my god you got rippppppeedddd offffff foooll". I knew the Ering price would be about $2300 or so, but had no idea what a good price is for a custom wedding band.

Thanks!

It's reasonable assuming you know the quality of the work/melee stones will be good!

Ditto! Plat is not cheap at the moment.

its a whiteflash quote - how does their milgrain work compare to other places on avg? from what i've seen it looks good but i'm no expert =P

No worries about workmanship from Whiteflash. And their melee is very nice too. There are many examples of their work here on PS. Do some searches or ask them for photos of similar pieces. Your ring looks like an antique style. There are other vendors who do more antiquey-looking settings. Have you checked those out?

HI:

I just had a quote for a platinum band--not hand made, but manufactured in my size...... .36ctw (points) and it was app. $2,000 Canadian. Tax not included.....

cheers--Sharon

If the quote is from WF you are in fine hands IMO.
