I have been reading about HCA and noticed that the score of fire, scintillation, etc are the same. Has anyone ever seen an HCA of below 1 for a diamond not look very sparkly?
The hca at its best tells you if the average crown and pavilion angles are a good combo.
The rest of the stuff don''t mean much because the facets it doesn''t account for can change it.
The hca is a very good first step not the final answer.
The b-scope shines a light on a diamond from 6 positions and measures the light returned.
There are various opinions on how well it grades diamonds if you want to do a search.
For me its informative info but like the hca its just another piece of the puzzle not the final answer.
hca less than one on a not so great diamond... yep.. under one isnt always better and between one and 2 is often a better place to be.
