hello all, got a 10x loupe today via amazon. looking at my ring i see more black pepper-like inclusions than is on the gia diagram. don''t they have to draw those in?? there is an indentation that matches my stone, so i believe it is the right stone w/ papers combo. gia only put clouds and feather. its a ritani stone h si1. thanks all.

GIA does not draw all the inclusions. They tell you they draw the ones that set the grade. Sometimes they do draw more and sometimes a bit less.

An SI1 won''t have a ton of pepper marks in it. Maybe you are seeing some dirt, dust, etc. besides what is really in the diamond.
Its possible to mistake what you first see until you gain some experience with a loupe.

ty old miner, oddly enough the black marks i see are only on the underside of the diamond, which is bezel set. cleaned it, still see the marks. maybe it is the reflection of the pave set mount. its eye clean. will see expert. still love it anyways. eyes trump paper, as you all say.

The purpose of the plotting diagram is to explain why they gave a stone a particular grade and to supply a mapping of important characteristics as an aid in recognizing the individual stone. They will often omit things that don''t contribute one of those purposes.
