Does bezel set affect size?

My girlfriend wants a bezel set e-ring, and we''re thinking about buying the center stone separately, then having the setting designed.

My question is....does a flush bezel set affect the size of the diamond? our budget may only allow for a center stone that is around .70 carats. Is that going to look small in the center of the ring? We want to get something reasonably priced, but also something that looks nice.

Does anyone have an experience with what''s important in bezel settings? thanks!!

I think bezels are perfect for the size diamond you are considering. They make the stone look larger. My guess is that once it is bezeled, most people will think that she has a carat size stone.

If anything it makes it appear larger from far away. The stone in my avatar is a .81 cushion bezel set and I think it looks great!

Good to know that bezel can often make stones look a little bigger. Obiously that''s not everything, but I still want to get the most bang for my buck with the look.
