Please see picture below: What is the name for fusing two different colored metals together?
I believe in woodworking it would be called "inlay" but I'm not sure on what the name is for this process in jewelrymaking.
Bonus question: the ring in the image has two forms of gold fused together, would it be possible to join two different metals? For example a platinum ring with a gold detail?
